What are people expecting? More like an Arena League type of ball or a serious Developmental League where Defense will actually matter?
It's all real NFL coaches and the NFL is scouting the players. I'm expecting some sloppy NFL type football. Former Ravens coach Rick Neuheisal is the head coach for the Arizona Hotshots so I'm curious to see them. I saw Mike Martz is coaching a team too and he always had some real interesting offenses. Mike Reilly has another. I haven't really looked at the rosters but these are legit coaches

So, I hesitate to admit this, but I tried watched a quarter of a game one time – and I couldn't handle it! I winced at every collision. I kept thinking to myself, "These poor girls are going to get hurt."

Seriously. Think of how much gear Eric Dickerson used to wear. These girls are barely wearing anything, and they're getting hit just as (relatively) hard.

Sigh, just revoke my man card now.

I always thought Nieuheisel was underrated as a coach. hope he does well

San Diego @ San Antonio Saturday night on CBS (regular network)
"Nothing stops these Baltimore Ravens. Beat them, injure them, shove them to the bottom of the standings, drag them into a hostile environment and mount a big lead, and they just keep trudging forward like nothing fazes them." (Bleacher Report)

If you want a rooting interest in the Hotshots, it's notable that Phil Savage is the GM there and the Ravens are one of the four teams affiliated with the Hotshots (meaning they could allocate players to develop there rather than being taxi squad players).

As a Maryland fan, marginal players get allocated to the Birmingham team--so a player like Tre Watson who might not get an NFL offer could land in Birmingham. Makes me wonder if a player might turn down an UDFA offer with an NFL club and instead choose to be a starter in the AAF?

I see Marvin Lewis will be calling the games for NFL Network. Kind of a strange choice since Marvin also sounds like someone with a strained vocal cord
