You watched the 8-9 show on NFL Network.?
The Pats scout the refs.? Knowing the officials tendencies is a big help.

julio jones - scouted his last 5 games seeing he ran most of his routes from left to right. they thought his right ankle was bothering him so shaded corner to his inside so he cant cut. jones is a beast he either played through the pain or was not that injured.
freeman - scouted that he is not good in pass pro as coleman. when coleman got injured they sent hightower to blitz and freeman didnt pick it up and led to the sack fumble by hightower.
belichick - pats had 2 2-pt plays in their playbook for the super bowl. the week of BB told mcdaniels to add 2 more 2-pt plays bc he thought it would be a shootout. it ended up being the 2 2-pt plays they used in the 4th quarter.

Yeah - they are absolutely the best in the NFL at what they do.

Still, the Falcons gave them the Superbowl in the second half. They beat themselves and the Patriots were good enough to take advantage of it, like they always do.

Not running the ball while inside the Pats 30 with under 4 Min was the dumbest move. Make it a 2 score game and it's likely over.
