Ravens Sign Alejandro Villaneuva to a 2-year Deal

Alejandro Villanueva and the #Ravens have agreed to a two-year deal, per source. Two-time Pro Bowl OT can play left tackle and slide to the right side when Ronnie Stanley is healthy.

Heyyyy a dude that’s awful at run blocking and has never played the RT position before.

    What could go wrong?!

He's veteran depth. Nobody is expecting a Jon Ogden. Cool your jets.

He's a skilled veteran in the easiest offense for linemen in the league. I think he'll be adequate. As long as Stanley is healthy and back to 100%, the projected line of Stanley/Cleveland/Bozeman/Zeitler/Phillips or AV should be much better than the final playoff line of OBJ/Bozeman/Mekari/Powers/Fluker and Phillips.

They definitely signed him to be their starter. Phillips can beat him out, but I don't think it's likely.

In watching the Steelers, on plays where he had to downblock he did well. Struggled out in space on their stretch zone.

We ran OZ about 4ish times a game last year. That's a big difference from what he was asked to do on the Steelers. They ran zone, and a lot of stretch zone all game long.

    Completely different schemes.

It’s not his strength but awful is a huge overstatement.

Seems like quite a lot to me, or is it what was expected?
