The Ravens haven't made the playoffs in three years under John Harbaugh. Issue or non-issue? That's the bigger question to ask if you're truthfully assessing the state of the Ravens. Mosely having to wait a while longer to become overpaid is a lesser issue than if Harbaugh and Co. have totally lost their touch. The writer wrote "various Ravens topics". He didn't write "various Ravens topics about players".

The HC and the coordinators are the biggest wildcards going into this season IMHO.
That’s the Ravens PR for you and these guys get paid to do this.

Which is unfortunate because the Ravens fan with his eyes open isn't merely a negative cynic if he appreciates reading something a little bit more grounded in reality. It doesn't even have to be written from a critical point of view. Just be real, and give the people reading more credit for knowing that the issues go deeper than stopping at where the writer needs to stop so that he won't get in trouble.

Don't crap where you eat I guess.

That's part of the problem here in general with the media much less the in house PR bullshit.
Nobody asks the tough questions in press conferences and on the occasion when they do Harbaugh dodges and is never held to the fire the way he needs to be sometimes.

Its almost as if football is entertainment and shouldn't be taken that seriously.

That's because they've accepted mediocrity. If John Harbaugh misses the playoffs for a 4th straight year should he be fired? The answer is obvious but that question is not even being brought up in the media at all.

It most certainly is entertainment as we all know but when its participants lose accountability and no longer can be trusted the entertainment factor (and its customers) diminish.
The customers eventually start to no longer care and apply their resources elsewhere.
I think we've already begun to see that separation occurring for several reasons and accountability (or lack there of) is certainly part of that equation.

They want to show that things are gonna be different once LJ takes over....at the same time, they are hedging their bets. Figuring, Joe is healthy and we gave him some new toys so maybe we shouldn't abandon that ship...just yet. Joe seems to respond well to doubt and and some tension...not sure why they haven't been able to find ways to keep that going, even if you have to manufacture it. I think that's one of the reasons BB and the OCs in NE always get on Brady's case. This man has 5 fucking rings and they never let up. He gets pissy and thrives under that shit. Feeling disrespected and always trying to prove his doubters wrong...even though he doesn't actually have any and is regarded as the goat by damn near everyone. The Ravens saw Joe respond to hard coaching in 2014. Reports were that he and Kubes got into a couple of times. THAT'S A GOOD THING!!! Why have the coaches taken so long to figure out how the dude is wired...it's not rocket surgery.

This is what they want, They think itl get people back in the stands. The only thing that will do that is winning, and Flacco givs ravens the best shot at that for at least the next 2 years

Is this what people though about Kyle Boller when we drafted Flacco?

I was not part of any football related message boards at the time, but did people think the best chance of winning was KB? The FO obviously did, as he started the season.

No, but it was still a valid question.

Was there as much hubbub around here regarding Flacco and him replacing KB?
