Re: Harbaugh: No Change at Any Coordinator Position

Is any young up and coming coach going to want to take their first shot or second chance on the staff of a coach who is likely on a pretty hot seat? Especially given the personnel questions that need to be answered. Most Guys I am guessing would rather wait for a less violatile situation.

Yea there are retreads out there. Yes you could bring them in but I am not sure John can afford to gamble on how quick either side of the ball would adjust to new coordinators.

John is likely thinking if he can bring in the right personnel, get a bit of luck in the draft and tweak both sides of the ball in terms of play calling, he may have a decent shot of getting it done and buying the time to develop a more longterm viewpoint again

Unlike the OCs available, Gus Bradley and Wade Phillips make this a pretty good year if you were looking for a top DC.

Only in your mind was Wade ever a consideration.

Because he's not a good HC.

I never liked this argument because how many times have we seen really good coordinators get promoted to head coaches and then the thing that got them there stinks?

That's true but you also see the opposite. New HC comes in and completely turns around one unit (their expertise).

Pete Carroll came into Seattle with a very specific defensive philosophy. He's the real architect of that defense. Gus Bradley was fired before the end of the season and outside of an interview with the Redskins yesterday hasn't really gotten much interest. You would think that teams would be all over the man behind the Seattle defense unless of course he isn't that man. I'm not sure how good Bradley really is
