    Ravens pass catchers thru 9

Here's some stats on the Ravens pass-catchers thru 9 games:

    (Last post: https://forum.russellstreetreport.co...atchers-thru-7)
(I forgot to do it after the Carolina game.)

Player Rec Yds TD FD Tar YPT
    Maxx Williams 14 127 0 6 14 9.07
    John Brown 34 601 4 22 67 8.97
    Chris Moore 12 128 0 5 15 8.53
    Mark Andrews 21 244 2 17 32 7.63
    Willie Snead 45 448 1 26 69 6.49
    Michael Crabtree 41 472 2 25 76 6.21
    Hayden Hurst 4 57 1 2 10 5.70
    Nick Boyle 14 136 0 5 27 5.04
    Alex Collins 15 105 1 6 21 5.00
    Javorius Allen 35 196 2 11 43 4.56
    Tim White 1 14 0 1 1 14.00
    De'Lance Turner 2 17 0 0 2 8.50
    Gus Edwards 1 7 0 0 1 7.00
    Lamar Jackson 0 0 0 0 2 0.00
(A few guys have only one or two targets thus far. I moved them down to the bottom of the table so as not to skew any "rankings".)

A couple notes on this data:

    • Maxx's stats have not gone up. Brown's have gone down. I don't think Maxx has been on the injury report??? But I don't think he's seen a target in 3 weeks!
    • More Moore, please.
    • Hayden Hurst has made a decisive move up out of the cellar. Great to see.
    • Most everyone else's numbers have gone down, of course. Tough couple of weeks.

I guess Thor took Maxx's snaps. It's great to see Thor start producing: but man, Maxx has been one of our most productive receivers this season. I'm not sure that completely removing him from the game plan, is really our best use of resources.

You guys see anything else worth mentioning?

Its not surprising to see Maxx not get action considering HH is back in the line-up and Andrews is the 2nd rated rookie TE. Wierd that John Brown has only 90 yards less than Antonio Brown

By the way, Ryan Grant has 270 yards and a TD with Andrew Luck

Maxx got passed rightfully so by Andrews. Andrews has the highest receiving grade out of all the Ravens TE's.

Maxx Williams was a healthy scratch against the Steelers. With Montgomery they probably won't be dressing 4 tight ends which is going to leave Maxx out since Boyle is only one of the group who can be relied on to block

He's been out since sustaining an ankle injury mid-game in October. Expected back for their next game, I think?

I still think, barring injury, that Grant will be more productive over the life of his contract than Crabtree will over the life of his.

In my data, Maxx's last target came against the Browns. So, 4 weeks (@Ten, NO, @Car, Pit)! He has been inactive for the past two games though. Looks to me like you're correct that H. Hurst took Maxx's snaps.

I think Hayden and Maxx bring different things to the table. Let me illustrate with a table. (I know my Brown and Allen yardage totals disagree with yours, I've found why and I'm contemplating how to fix it. Stupid laterals.)

Maxx has had a good season catching short passes and running after the catch. There's nothing wrong with that, but the Ravens have other players who can fill that role. H.Hurst has run deeper routes and (hopefully) brings something new to this offense. The Ravens have plenty of dudes who can catch short passes, and even some who can rumble for YAC on those plays. They badly need players who can go downfield, get open, and make catches.

Here are the 'Air Yards' for each players' targets this season (bold indicates a completion):
    H.Hurst
    (21, 21, 15, 13, 13, 8, 1, 0, 0, -3)

    M.Williams
    (17, 13, 10, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 0, -1, -2, -4, -5)

(Lol, Nick Boyle has a deeper depth of catch than depth of target.)

Here's something else I whipped up for my other post but decided it didn't fit. Definition of Success remains the same (40% of yards to go on 1st down, 60% on 2nd, 100% on 3rd/4th).

Looks like Andrews has over taken not only Max but Hurst also. It’s evident on the field.
