Nobama, coming to a classroom near you!

Wow...........he's got big balls! Turns out 0bama is giving a speech that will be televised in classrooms throughout the country, espousing the virtues of studying and working hard in school (which I personally think should be left to parents) but he's gonna ask them how they can help him. According to White House event-related guides developed by the U.S. Department of Education’s Teaching Fellows, grade-school students will be told to “listen to the speech” and "could think about the following:" What is the President trying to tell me? What is the President asking me to do? What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?

Students can record important parts of the speech where the President is asking them to do something. Students might think about: What specific job is he asking me to do? Is he asking anything of anyone else? Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?

After the speech, teachers will ask students: What do you think the President wants us to do? Does the speech make you want to do anything? Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?

Are you kidding me? Why the fudge do kids need to be asked questions like this? Don't they have enough on their plate?

Apparently, this is what 0bama and his good buddy Bill Ayers, who both worked together at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, feel is the "motor force of revolution" Getting to the children. Don't take my word for it, its all right here:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122212856075765367.html

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was created ostensibly to improve Chicago's public schools. The funding came from a national education initiative by Ambassador Walter Annenberg. In early 1995, Mr. Obama was appointed the first chairman of the board, which handled fiscal matters. Mr. Ayers co-chaired the foundation's other key body, the "Collaborative," which shaped education policy.

The CAC's basic functioning has long been known, because its annual reports, evaluations and some board minutes were public. But the Daley archive contains additional board minutes, the Collaborative minutes, and documentation on the groups that CAC funded and rejected. The Daley archives show that Mr. Obama and Mr. Ayers worked as a team to advance the CAC agenda.

One unsettled question is how Mr. Obama, a former community organizer fresh out of law school, could vault to the top of a new foundation? In response to my questions, the Obama campaign issued a statement saying that Mr. Ayers had nothing to do with Obama's "recruitment" to the board. The statement says Deborah Leff and Patricia Albjerg Graham (presidents of other foundations) recruited him. Yet the archives show that, along with Ms. Leff and Ms. Graham, Mr. Ayers was one of a working group of five who assembled the initial board in 1994. Mr. Ayers founded CAC and was its guiding spirit. No one would have been appointed the CAC chairman without his approval.

The CAC's agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers's educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Ayers taught at a radical alternative school, and served as a community organizer in Cleveland's ghetto.....

    But they were "only neighbors".....:liar:

    1. God forbid if the President should be "giving a speech that will be televised in classrooms throughout the country, espousing the virtues of studying and working hard in school"

As we all know "ignorance is bliss" , "religion is the opiate of the masses" and there is nothing more threatening to conservatives than the educated mind.

    2. As far as your Annenberg Foundation and Bill Ayers conspiracy, “The friendship Ronnie and I shared with Walter and Lee Annenberg goes back many, many years,” said former First Lady Nancy Reagan. “To know that students of today and tomorrow, in every state, will benefit from this wonderful gift means the world to me.”

Silly...just plain silly. This misinformation has been disputed probably more than the death panels

    3. If you are so worried about your children being indoctrinated by the evil Nobama;

this might help...Ron looks pretty good in one.

    4. I will quote off of DKOS because it was so perfectly portrayed this morning;

The latest viral wingnut e-mail, sent early on Tuesday, reveals that teabaggers (with the help of the G0P) are organizing a nationwide "Keep Your Kid Home From School Day" to protest President Obama's upcoming address to schoolchildren on the importance of studying hard and getting a good education.

Read it for yourself and have a good laugh:

Word is traveling fast on the internet, between bloggers and twitter, the choice is clear : No school for kids on September 8th due to the beginning of Socialist Indoctrination of Americas children.

Take a day of vacation. Go to the zoo. Anything that would save your offspring from what I will bluntly say is just the quasi-fellating the executive branch. That cackling over a bubbling cauldron you hear is the NEA rejoicing.

President Obama’s Address to Students Across America September 8, 2009
I wouldn’t have such a problem with the Department of Education were this presented in a non-Orwellian fashion. Oh yes, it is, as the lesson plan directs, to listen to what t he president, the mayor, et al. says, to respect their "authoritah", but there is no emphasis in here on why the president and other elected officials should listen to US. The focus is solely on authority. There is no consideration given to the authority of the American people. That’s what concerns me.

There is this mindset that those in Washington are the "elite," that we should mind our Ps and Qs and blindly follow their directives. That’s not the manner of governance upon which this country was founded – it is quite the opposite; even the hobbyist Constitutional aficionado appreciates this.
So yes, keep your kids home on September 8th and teach them that the power of America rests in the hands of its people, no one else.

    NOTE TO OBAMA :

    LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE !!!!

Funny thing is, you didn't hear a peep from these nutjobs when the first President Bush delivered a 15 minute speech to the nation's classrooms on the importance of avoiding drugs. You didn't see any of them blowing a gasket when teachers were supplied with guides to help student's interpret President Reagan's Challenger Speech. And you certainly didn't see Democrats pulling their kids out of school over either of those events.

    :word

Unless these people don't want their kids to be encouraged on studying hard, there's only one reason for them to have their children play hooky: an irrational fear of President Obama.

Their outrage over this speech is being fueled by the likes of Matt Drudge and Michelle Malkin and even the Republican Party itself, each of whom represent the crazy behind the crazies. They've completely lost their minds. Insane to the core.

Maybe if they spent more time in school instead of skipping it, they'd learn how to spell words like "oligarchy."[/B]

Re: Nobama, coming to a classroom near you!

But what most young people see in 0bama is the look, not the substance. Young kids focus on the look because they could care less about the substance and they just don't really give a shit unless their parents are active politicos. The teenagers that were enamored w/0bama were so because he wasn't GWBush (who is the devil btw) and because Hollywood was behind him. Teenagers like to feel a part of something; to fit in. 0bama = fitting in.

Honestly, if he just talks about doing well in school and studying hard then I won't have a problem with it and will make a comment right here. I certainly wouldn't keep my kid out of school because of it but I would/will pay attention to what he says. I just don't see why 0bama needs help with anything.

Re: Nobama, coming to a classroom near you!

all of this is getting really old.

Obama creates a stimulus package to help the economy as most everyone thought was necessary and he is a socialist.

He looks to reform healthcare which is in serious trouble as most everyone agrees and he wants to kill of senior citizens, veterans and women with breast cancer.

He looks to facilitate foreign relations and he is on an apology tour.

He looks to investigate incidents of possible torture and he is aiding the terrorists.

He looks to help the environment which we all should be well aware of is troubled and he is finding a way to covertly tax.

He asks people to send in emails as a way to address misinformation and he is creating an enemies list.

And now he wants to talk to kids about doing well in school and he is running a nazi-like indoctrination program.

I mean c'mon...the guy can't do a single freakin thing without some wingnut absurd reframing of the event. There is no way any sensible person can really believe all of this? Is there?

But hat was in a speech to school children. So which is it Galen, did you like Bush's remarks or didnt you?

Reagan spoke at Falston Hi school 5 mins from here and is one of the most beautiful public schools with a kick ass football team.

Here is a text of the Messiahs sppech. It isnt as bad as I thought but it has its moments. I dont get all the uproar.

He isnt pushing health care although he mentions a little kid battling cancer but never got behind in his school work but that was in reference to working hard, not getting free medicine unless you listen real hard-lol.

Some schools wont even show it but it has its amusing moments.

Some amusing points were when he said you might become a policeman.

That was after he started a racial war after dissing the entire Cambridge Police Dept on their entry methods.

Then there was the community service line.

Wait til the little ones become college age and have to go to labor camps as community service to pay off their student loans.

Yup, this speech is a trip.

If I was still working in the school system I would walk out of any district that prohibited the live viewing of a Presidential speech on the merits of education whether it was Obama or "W". Evrytime I think the GOP reaches the apogy of ignorance another booster engine kicks them even higher.

Again it was unpatriotic to speak out against a president that took us to a war without a reason but it isn't somehow a problem to take your kid out of an educational setting for a day because the president is speaking about the merits of education. That's a joke. The GOP is overplaying their hand and this will eventually catch up to them.

I had been reserving judgement to wait for the final transcript, as, IMO, that is what is important.
I have no problem with the President addressign each and every one of our children, in a school setting. I was worried abotu what would come out of his mouth.
If that transcript is accurate, and word for word what the Prez says(we know he'll read exactly wahat is up on the teleprompter) so unless they change it real quick....

I have no problem with this.

I may disagree with damn well near everythign that pops out of this loons mouth, or how much and how quickly he is sending this country to financial ruin, but this I actlally agree with.

This gives me hope for this country. Seriously, no snark.

That's not a criticism at all.
I wish he would actually reform healthcare. Instead he is going on a crusade against Health Insurance companies for some reason. He hasn't even mentioned reforming Tort law, eliminating healthcare for those here illegally, or changing anything that will actually reduce costs to those in need.

Uninsured already have free healthcare at every ER in the US...
