Re: OT - The Movies/TV thread
I am late but started watching Squid Game. Great show. Just finished the infamous episode 6 last night and couldn't watch more. But I love it.

Re: OT - The Movies/TV thread
It hooked me quick. I need to go back and watch from episode one. I was in the middle of a work thing and caught 2 episodes starting at around 3 but really liked and was oddly moved by it.
I think it's the great acting/actors and characters. The premise is cheesy but they just manage to make all these horrible dilemmas seem very real so the emotions hit you hard. Normally something like that can be cartoony. I think a lot of it is the actors. It's very well cast too.

It's basically people who owe debts compete in a bunch of games to win money. It's kind of Hunger Games-ish, saying much more would spoil stuff but it's well worth watching. The English dub is TERRIBLE but it's a thrilling, fantastic show.

Re: OT - The Movies/TV thread
Brawl in cell block 99 is one of my favorite films of all time it gets kind of cartoonish and silly at the end but it's very satisfying and Vince Vaughn pulls it off nicely.
If you liked that one you should check out the other movies by S. Craig Zahler. He wrote Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete. Both hyperviolent popcorn flicks. Both entertaining.
Also if you liked Fargo you should check out Millers Crossing. That was my favorite movie for like 20 years.

Re: OT - The Movies/TV thread
Squid Game was pretty cool, I thought it could have been a couple of episodes shorter, but overall it kept my attention. It got pretty tense at times, and it was pretty clever. I liked the glass game the best, and that sequence before it where they were trying to figure out a strategy for choosing their numbers. The dubbing is not very distracting, and it had a very unique look. Definitely worth a watch.

This new Halloween Kills is... awful. I legitimately hate this. Watching on Peacock and I might not finish... crazy how good the 2018 one was and then they do this.
