Second-team All-Pro (1984, 1985, 1986, 1992, 1993)
This is Rickey Jackson. Similar player. Hall of Famer, but not first ballot.
Really though it depends on who is available at the same time as Suggs.Last edited by WNCRavensFan; 05-17-2018 at 05:20 PM.

Young's physical talent presents a lot to work with. One NFL scout said his instincts were poor and he was the first player at his level that he ever scouted whose instincts were worse as a Senior than before. I was surprised that we picked him where we did but we may feel all he needs is coaching to get something out of him. Much better risk/reward than Correa in the 2nd. Let's hope we can develop him.

Re: All of a sudden - the Ravens are very young.
I'm not too familiar with Rickey Jackson but I understand where you're coming from. Very similar numbers, plus according to PFR Jackson did win Super Bowl XXIX with the 49ers though he only registered 3.5 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries that season.
However, with it being a different era of football I think Suggs will be viewed differently. The DPOY and DROY plus the respect he gets from the national media puts Suggs over the top in my opinion."Put your goggles on, 'cause there's gonna be blood and guts everywhere!" - SSSr

It's not all about stats. It's more about perception. The voters all seem to perceive him as one of the best ever. That, combined with his very good numbers, should get him in the first ballot. The media never thought of Rickey Jackson in the same way that the media thinks of Suggs.

Re: All of a sudden - the Ravens are very young.
It has me curious as to
a) how many more seasons he will play
b) if those seasons will all be with the Ravens
c) who retires the same year as him
Selfishly, I really want him to be a Ravens lifer and join Ray Lewis and Jonathan Ogden in that regard. It's a bit of a bitter feeling that Ed Reed isn't.

Re: All of a sudden - the Ravens are very young.
The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec reports Ravens OG Nico Siragusa underwent a second surgery on his knee this offseason.
A fourth-round pick last year, Siragusa tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL during training camp last season. It is a devastating injury which already had him questionable for training camp, and the second surgery adds another layer of doubt. If he can get back, Siragusa should compete for a backup job.
