Canady was used at FS and did well. Tavon is not a safety

I honestly believe Young could become a very very good center fielder. Watching him on film he can get beat with his size by bigger WRs... but he also shows a bit more than simply being the nickel corner. I want him in on every downs... he has all the tools to cover the field.
I think playing in space for him wont work out as well. the way NFL runs today he will be on the field as a nickel most of the time. Canady is a better candidate for CF as he has played it before

Why not give him a shot now if he works then you don't have to birn a pick on FS this upcoming draft

Re: You are the GM. You got 18 months !

    1) First off, need a coaching staff change. I am going to throw out a name I don't think anyone has and I don't know college football very well, but have heard stuff about this guy, so please give me the pros/cons: Lane Kiffin. Get some fresh young blood in here. I would let him choose his OC and DC. I would like Rex as a DC but I don't think that's possible.

    2) Front Office. Something needs to change in our draft process and I don't know enough to know how much of these bad picks are Harbs/Eric/Oz. Whats clear is that the we are drafting like its early 2000 and still cant even get the players to fit that philosophy. It would be one thing if we were able to produce with that way of thinking and just losing to better teams. Theres a miss-communication somewhere, scouts, HC to GM, I don't know, but I am going to let the HC that I hire have a lot more of an input on these players that he wants to fit his system. So

    3) Roster. Im also rolling with Joe and making sure that we have a system in place that fits his needs and not 3 yard dumps 30 times a game, id rather lose with him slinging it down field than continue watching us lose after 60minutes of 4 yard passes 6 yards short of first down markers. I would see if we could land Larry Fitzgerald. I have never had an issue with us picking up older vet WRs, Boldin and SSR were awesome moves, just need a guy on the opposite side that can stretch the field and be a playmaker, Fitz would be Joe's instant go to. Cutting Maclin or Wallace to save some money. Honorable mentions: Allen Robinson and Marquise Lee(Jax), Paul Richardson (Sea).

    Cuts
-Camp, I just don't want to deal with him, not going to continuously hope for someone who has never been healthy, to get healthy.
    -Watson
-Mallet, I know he's a FA, im just not bringing him back, I just don't like him, he's an asshole

    4) The Draft. We aren't getting Barkley but there is a couple dynamic RBs coming out that we need to grab imo, I wont go into debating the players, but we can, just talking positions as of now. Look for a WR in the top 3 rounds that has shown he has reliable hands and can high point a ball, hopefully we have a new person making the selections. Also, draft a return specialist for the love of god. I don't care if he barely contributes on offense. If you go look at Jacoby Jones, he was not a consistent weapon for the offense, yes I know he came up with some big plays in clutch moments, he had 76 catches in 3 years here though. Take a QB somewhere, we should be doing that every year imo.

Yeah, the HC has enough to worry about that if they want to put in the requisite time to keep the team together, make sure that players are prepared, and prepare the game plan, and make sure that they get in sleep, keep themselves fresh, and maybe see their family a little they need to delegate roster construction to a good GM. And the most time consuming and laborious part of a GM's life is draft prep. HC's are pretty bad at asking for players in the draft. Look at what happened with Boller/Billick. Scouting takes up way too much time and is another animal entirely. I feel like being a draft guru is almost 50% NFL X's/O's and 50% NCAA X's/O's. And on top of that, you have to be watching all of the NCAA games, that a HC wouldn't be watching because they have to be more concerned with the NFL games.

Come to think of it... a job where I have to watch every college football game, sign me up for that job.

What I find Ironic is how Harbs got the job is going to be his undoing. Harbs was chosen because he was young and not the safe conventional pick as a HC. He then goes and hires only old conventional coordinators. He has nothing to do with young and upcoming offensive and defensive minds. In his mind Ravens football is 1980s football. He is Bo Schembechler but has actually won a championship.

If I recall, he got the job because nobody wanted our job for some season. Which I find pretty strange and insulting, considering the fact that you're only going to get hired as a HC if the team in question is a trainwreck. Teams in great shape generally don't fire coaches. I would have thought that a team with great defensive players and with three winning seasons in the past previous five years wouldn't be a trainwreck when you consider that there are so many teams with losing programs. I don't know what it was. Maybe the salary that Steve B was offering was lowballing.

From now until end of the 2017 season:

Force Harbaugh to: Fire MM now, promote Roman to OC. Emphasize the running game, including misdirection. Keep at it, even if ypc is modest and even if we are down by a TD in the second half. Emphasize play action in the passing game, emphasize the vertical game, also the 10 to 25 yard range. More crossing routes to take advantage of speed. Don't worry at all about completion pctge. No checkdowns behind the LOS without misdirection. Identify and attack opponent's weaknesses.

I wouldn’t say nobody wanted the job...Jason Garrett was the only other guy they were really looking at and he clearly wanted the Dallas job.
