How were the Backup QBs?
I won't be able to see the game until it's shown on NFL Network. Just looking at the stats Taylor seems to have played well. Painter didn't get many snaps in but he was 3 for 3 with a TD. How did these guys really do and are you more confident in them than you were last week?

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
Taylor looked much better last night. He made some good throws, but he wouldn't get the offense to the level it needs to be this year in order to win. I didn't see Painter.
This team lives and dies with #5, who looks absolutely lights-out right now.

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
Taylor looked much improved from last week.
The thing I've noticed with him is he is far too quick to take off running rather than trying to extend the play. That's ok sometimes, but he does it a lot. He doesn't look very comfortable in the pocket at times and that's why he flushes out. The other thing I noticed these past two games is that his touch passes are terrible. I mean, really bad. His best passes come when he puts some juice behind it. When he has to make a touch throw with some arc on it...really inaccurate and too much loft.
Painter looked like Painter. Not great, but not terrible as a back up.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
Yea, I cringe when he throws the ball. He doesn't have a bad arm, but accuracy is a huge issue. If the Ravens do indeed need to turn to him at any point this season, I would expect a lot of of those sideline roll outs where he can run 50% of the time and pass it 50% of the time.

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
I think someone put a bug in Tyrod's ear to stay in the pocket a little more. They know what he can bring, but they are attempting to evaluate WRs. Last night, he did a good job in helping those WRs get reps except trying to force the ball to Thompson.

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
I thought Taylor looked vastly better than last week. We are still in trouble if Flacco goes down. Painter was ok, but saw little action.

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
Based on the first two games, I had thought that Taylor's happy feet + inadequate arm would lead to the premature end of his NFL career. After last night, there's some hope. His passes weren't so loopy, and he did not panic & run as much. Taylor is not ready for prime time yet -- too bad there's no more NFL Europa for developmental players, because that would be the ideal for him.
Painter continues to look adequate, against scrubs on defense. His TD pass was pretty.
Still hoping that a decent experienced QB, such as Moore or Jackson, becomes available on the cheap by Labor Day.In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Taylor looked better, but he ain't #5. Flacco is looking awsome.

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
Tyrod threw almost every pass off his back foot. But I agree that his passes are much improved.

Re: How were the Backup QBs?
watched it yesterday. Taylor played well but there were some designed runs in there and he's a one, two read (max) player at this stage. Painter only saw one short series and he did a good job against the 3's and 4's.
