I am sorry, but the Ravens are responsible. Yes, I know, the people that abuse others are responsible for their own behavior but the Ravens know, KNOW, that this goes on. They should stop it. They should be keeping kids in order and behaving and if a kid pushes another he should be immediately removed. The smaller kids should go first and the bigger kids later. Forget age, go size and let the smaller kids go first.

This has gone on long enough that the Ravens should have some kind of way to keep it from happening.

I may have attended my last Ravens game Friday night.

I’ve never been a season Ticket holder, but I’ve been to more games than I can count or even remember over the past 15 years. I have seen the good and bad. I decided to take my boy to the game Friday night and was appalled and blown away by the behavior I saw at the game. Language doesn’t bother me. I’m not naïve. I also swear (too much) and I drink beer. Hell, I’ve even been drunk. But even when I drink I don’t forget how to treat people.

I came to watch a football game and I brought my son to have the experience of the stadium, the fireworks, and everything else associated with a football game. That includes everything from a hotdog and nachos to a loud stadium with screaming rowdy fans. All of that is Awesome!

I didn’t come to see racial attacks, puking in the stands, punching people in the backs of the head and spitting and throwing beer at them in the back of the head. I didn’t come to be harassed and threatened by people spouting their Wal-Mart “Pop Political Ideology” either.

The icing on the cake…. Was yesterday’s camp at Stevenson University. While I was in line with all of the other parents waiting for their kids to come back I was saddened by some of the littler kids with tears in their eyes. I understand the big kids are bigger, assertive, and know what they are going after. That is life. What sickened me was that those little kids were crying and explaining to their parents that they didn’t get an autograph while 15 and16 year olds (who lied about their ages) deliver balls with 15 autographs to their dads who are pissing themselves like little schoolgirls that just got a kiss from Justin Bibber.

While my son did get an autograph…. I can only hope that when he grows up he is picking up those little kids or handing their ball over the crowd to get their ball autographed.

I agree with you and i disagree, with the Preseason high jinx. I don't know, what do you expect. Its a friday night and the first teamers only played 1 quarter so i guess people were kinda pissed and alcohol doesn't help. ( mind you, i rarely drink and last time i went to the BANK, Bengals last season, there were alot of drunk people but i didn't see anything that would make me ashamed )

Anyways, as for the Stevenson, autograph thing. Well, i guess you can blame that on the Front Office. You wouldn't see this problem if the Ravens F.O. didn't set up these stupid rules.

These little kids (4,5,6,7 etc ) don't even know what a Autograph is and honestly i don't think it would mean as much to them as it would for a 16yr old or a grown man. I know that sounds kind of mean but lets keep it real. The Grown men are the ones that give the NFL teams money, not 5 yr olds who don't know what or who a Football player is.

On that note, it does make me sick for the people trying to get Autographs just to sell them on EBAY and such. Its sickening, they aren't true Fans to me. I would treasure the autographs i would get.

LOL @ "the Ravens are responsible." YOU are one of the people accountable. This is because you think the team can keep all fans/kids in order, but seem to disregard their own/parents culpability. So when there are 60,000+ fans in the stands, and a fight breaks out, do you believe the Ravens are responsible too? Your thinking is so unrealistic... Bc

    Re: I am saddened…

Been to dozens of games and had PSL's in the upper and lower sections and have never seen an issue except for the usual dude who's too drunk to stand get escorted out. I've seen stuff go down outside in the lots, but never in the stands. I am sure it happens though.

So I am with the camp that says this was the exception, not the rule, in terms of fan behavior. The exhibition games bring out the folks who do not normally go out to games, thanks to greater and cheaper availability of the tickets.

Best to watch it from the comfort of your livining room with your Direct TV cliker in your hand. If you want grace and civility roll the clock back to the 50s. Rear your kids so that they have no illusions as to who's on their side and who's not!

    This ^^

Though I have been to many of both preseason and regular and not witnessed as widespread bad behavior as the OP has posted about. Worst I saw was a Broncos fan fighting with some drunk bimbo, and both were promptly kicked out.

I almost went to Dave an Busters the night their was a double homicide there, so I agree, people can be idiots anywhere, but I avoid that place at night and find the stadium a far safer place with not only cops, but decent Raven's fans that will patrol their own tailgates from moronic behavior.

Glad you edited this to make it a *little* nicer, but you're still wrong.

The Ravens separate the parents from the kids. Which is fine, I get it, but then the kids need to be monitored by the team.

His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.

Whatever happened to parental responsibility? So the team is responsible for watching kids now?

    Re: I am saddened…

I have been to every Ravens game since 2004 and never seen anything like this in the stadium. Ravens fans behave well even when drunk. Yes I have seen some swearing back and forth between fans of the other team and our fans but thats the extent of it.

As for the autographs, thats always been an issue where the older people always get the autographs because they push the little kids out of the way. This always happened at McDanial and thats why the wrist bands came into play but it still did not stop people from lying about their age (really being 18) and saying 16 and the real 16 year olds pushing little kids away.

I think the Parents are not allowed in the autograph area but yes, they should be allowed there or there needs to be staff there making sure non of this happens.
