Re: Ravens and Grubbs agree to a 5 year deal
So now Aaron and the Sun says that the 2 sides have NOT reached an agreement while ESPN continues to say that an agreement has been reached.

Re: Ravens and Grubbs agree to a 5 year deal
Heap was the last....2001.
From the Sun :
The Ravens are trying to end a long run of holdouts. Their past six first-round picks - Ed Reed (2002), Terrell Suggs (2003), Kyle Boller (2003), Mark Clayton (2005) and Haloti Ngata (2006) - all missed time in training camp because they didn't sign contracts before camp began.
The last Ravens first-round pick to report to camp on time was Todd Heap in 2001.Last edited by Bez513; 07-27-2007 at 09:52 AM.

Re: Ravens and Grubbs agree to a 5 year deal
The Sun news is old news. My guess is Aaron is saying he is not officially "signed". He has agreed to the contract just has not signed it. That's seldom a deal with a healthy draft pick, as physical etc. should not prove to be an issue (if they even need to give him one, I don't know).
Everybody involved in this in the media wants to be the one that "scooped" the story. It's what helps them get people to pay them money for reporting the official story 1 hour before everyone else.

Re: Ravens and Grubbs agree to a 5 year deal
Well that is good news.
Now I still want to know why this all can't be done within 2-3 weeks AFTER the draft.
