Re: Trevor Pryce says; "NO WAY RAVENS BEAT PATRIOTS"!

So, in theory, the Patriots can claim victory against several teams who, in a sense, almost kinda-sorta achieved 9-7 records, in one way of looking at it.

While the Ravens went 7-0 against playoff teams who, despite losing to the Ravens (often twice) still made the playoffs.

The Steelers, who beat the Patriots, were a 13-1 team in the regular season outside of their defeats to the Ravens. So by this interesting new logic, the Ravens can claim they beat a 15-1 team. Twice. (Since we count their two Ravens losses as wins in this new calculus).

The only thing the 09 game shows is that if you turn the ball over multiple times, you will lose. That still holds true, for both teams.

I actually think last year's game is more indicative of how this one may play out.

Ironically this is the one thing about this matchup that favors the Ravens, who are typically more vulnerable to speedy (but tall) receivers blowing by them on deep routes. Think Chargers, or even the Titans' Kenny Britt before he got hurt.

Overall I think the Pats passing game is as good or better than that of the Chargers but it's different. And that difference actually matches up in a way that works out (somewhat) better for the Ravens.

If we can worry a little less about being burned deep, we can play press coverage, and if we can play press coverage, we're in the game.

"WAVE AFTER WAVE! WAVE AFTER WAVE"!!

Remember that? That's Harbaugh to his Defense in 2009, when the D made Brady their bitch.

That's exactly what's going to happen again this Sunday.

This is correct. This is what the Jets did to us last year in the playoffs. They crowded the middle of the field where we like to operate, put Revis on Welker and shut him down and threw our timing off.

We made some adjustments this year however and expoited the deep middle with Gronk and had some great success.

Sounds like Mr. Pryce is a little upset about us letting him walk to the Jets.

Falling behind early is EXACTLY what needs to happen. That way Cam can't get dragged into "turtle" mode - three and out again and again - until he gives Brady enough chances to take over the game. We need to open up and pass and put them back on their heels and then finish them off with the run - and a mixed/balanced offense. If they let Cam do his normal thing our goose is cooked.

We can win this if we're smart.

I still think we need to beat up Gronkowski at the line of scrimmage - all day - every play - give him a personal shadow - then play 10 on 10 with the other guys

Our team plays better as the underdog. If Flacco can play decently and we can establish our running game early on I like our chances to win.

You mean the Patriots team that had didn't have Welker, Gronk, or hernadez? Get ready for a reality check.

It's going to come down to the basics just like any other game. Turnovers and controlling the lines. Our Dline gets to Brady that solves part of the problem with the TE's. Control their Dline to allow Rice some room and Flacc opportunity to make plays.

BTW, I was taken aback with these very impressive stats of Flacc's against all the playoff teams the Ravens' have played this year courtesy of Hensley at ESPN:

    Totals 205 126 61.5 1,566 10 2 97.3 7-0

Talk about stepping up when playing against the best. All games were against the #1, #2, #4, and #7 defenses in the league.

All those who are predicting Ray Rice repeating 2009 are a bit off base. New England (or Brady) couldn't adjust to losing Wes Welker the week prior to playing the Ravens.

They are full strength at their skill positions, and this will be a tough game to win.

    Still....

They haven't faced a team like the Ravens all year...... oh wait.... the Steelers sent them home with a nice little azzwhoppin' earlier this year.....

Pats should expect nothing less from the Ravens who were clearly the better team this year between the Ravens and Steelers.

    SHOCK DA WORLL, BABEEE!
After 5 years of early exits, the journey is finally complete.

As someone wisely stated: "Fans see what they want to see."
So what your saying is that because the Ravens beat a team the Patriots lost to, it means the Ravens beat the Patriots? Not sure it's ever worked that way, but your right "Fans see what they want to see" My heart see's a one sided Patriot victory, while my head see's an old, slow team that doesn't travel well and has none of the pieces to match up with the Patriots when they spread them out and push the hurry-up down the field. This is a bad, very bad match up for the Ravens, that's what most objective football fans see.
