Jerry Angelo fired in Chicago. Good. The way he handled the draft day trade fiasco was absolutely classless. They've drafted really poorly over the last few years, passing on Terrell Suggs is just one example, which has caused them to have to overpay for both Cutler and Peppers to stay relevant.

He looked incompetent after the draft with how he messed around Steve Bisciotti and our front office
That's not the reason he was fired but it did no favours to his reputation

Jerry Angelo, interesting. That's one I didn't see coming. He's escaped so many times before that I figured that on an 8-8 year he'd do it again. That guy is a good talent evaluator but a poor GM.

Norv had several teams that should have made it to the Super Bowl with no questions asked. Completely loaded on both sides of the ball and then would find creative ways to choke in the playoffs.. If there is one coach still working on borrowed time, it's him.

LaConfora is speculating that the Chicago GM job is one of the few that could entice away Eric DeCosta. Obviously it would be devastating to lose DeCosta at all but I'd really hate to see him take a job that is set up for failure. It is a premiere job in the sense that it's a big market, a historically relevant franchise and a great fanbase but the McCaskeys are MUCH worse owners than Bisciotti and the roster is very old and thin. When Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman and Peppers retire or decline over the next couple of years they will be in real trouble and I'd hate to see DeCosta go the same route as Savage and Kokinis.
