Webb might have turf toe per 105.7

Vinny C's sources say its minor but it'll be a 2wk injury....

DAMN!! We need him vs. the Chargers

Our damn field is hurting us... Grubbs, now Webb... We gotta go to natural grass.

Not good if true. He's been a playmaker for this team the entire season.

Turf toe doesn't literally relate to the field. It's a general term for a sprained toe.

Two out of 53 players having the injury in one year doesn't indicate a problem with the field. It's not like guys are always coming back with this injury after they play here.

Re: Webb though, that's a devastating injury. Jimmy Smith is playing well, as is Cary Williams, but it's fair to say Webb was our top CB. And Carr is injured again.

He came out hobbling a bit, but returned a few plays later. Was this the same injury? If so, I'd be surprised if he doesn't play.

Time for Danny Gorrer to step up again....maybe even Chykie Brown.

I'd wait for further confirmation on this. I'd expect this to be BLOWING UP on twitter via Aaron Wilson, WNST, Jerry Coleman, et al. It may be a slight aggravation that COULD cause him to miss time, but could be nothing.

No, we don't need natural grass. Ask Wes Welker weather or not he prefers natural grass.

And the service has nothing to do with turf toe. Turf Toe happens when the toe is hyper-extended, typically when someone falls on the back of your leg while the toe is planted in the ground.

I thought that was why Ed Reed was back there. Webb tweaked his foot on another play.

    Didn't look that bad though

I'm 100% with you here. The reports from yesterday were that we made it unscathed through the game, injury wise.

We've been insanely fortunate with injuries the last 1.8 seasons.

Turf toe typically happens when you jam (hyperextend) your big toe in shoe when you attempt to make a quick change of direction or make a sudden stop after a full out sprint. Fake turf does not have the give that nat grass does. Sure you can stop and start quicker, and your change of direction is better on our turf, but its gonna have these potential injury concerns. Facts are facts, Grubbs got hurt during 1st game, and now Webb this last game... Lewis got hurt in the Seahawks game, and they got the same fake turf we have.

I've never liked our turf after that goofy Webb ACL tear during the Bears game in 09.

Actually it can be caused by a hard stop with your toe rolling under the ball of your foot. Usually the 2nd toe.It causes a issue in the top joint of the toe. It could also be cause by what was mentioned earlier. It is sore but you can play with it if you had to. Yes i feel as if the turf fields cause more injuries due to the good grip on the surface but grass didn't work well before because of the way stadium is designed it doesn't get enough light in the fall to sustain the grass
