Really great article on offensive philosophies.

Dont know if anyone has seen this before or not, but it gives a good comparison of the ERdhart-Perkins offense vs the west coast vs the Coryell vs the Run-n-shoot, etc.
Pretty good write up and gives some graphics on the route tree, etc.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

Re: Really great article on offensive philosophies.
that's a good overview; may as well add the spread and the zone-read since they've made their way into the league also.
Not sure any team sticks with their base offense all the time anymore.

Re: Really great article on offensive philosophies.
I really liked reading about the Coryell offense from this perspective because nowhere does it mention Cam Cameron.
What it does say is that a great OL is paramount for the success of the offense because of the nature of the deep routes being run.
Well...we've seen a lot of how that is true...Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

The NY Times did an excellent 7-part series on NFL defenses that I'll post in it's own thread.

Re: Really great article on offensive philosophies.
Good article. I know theyve been using the spread more but im not as familiar with that since i dont watch college, but isnt that just a variation of wco where you play from the gun and in a hurry up. Basically what we did against the cards.
