Texas students required to recite Mexican Pledge of Allegiance
As part of the curriculum of a hi school Spanish class, students were
required to memorize and recite the pledge of allegiance to Mexico
and their National Ahtem.
One student refused. She went to the principal who said it was part of
the curriculum and mandated by the school board for Spanish classes
to learn another culture.
I took 2 yrs of Spanish in hi school and we just learned the
language - no muy bien porvabor. But there was
nothing said about the culture, just learning the words.
Comprende usted?
OK, but to be forced to swear allegiance to another country which is what
the kids were doing?
The protesting student was given another assignment but had to watch
each class mate stand in front of the class and give the presentations.
It was also during freedom week and 911 anniversary.
BTW, the teacher was Hispanic who grew up in Mexico and still loves it.
So why didn't she stay there? She is probably illegal too.
Why couldn't they learn Spain's culture since that's where Spanish
originates. Answer is obvious.
Teacher said the other students liked it ane learned something. They
were probably from Mexico too .

Elsewhere, an Olive Garden refused to let a Kawanis Club bring the
American flag into its restaurant. They were having a meeting there
along with a meal and always say the pledge of allegiance to the
AMERICAN FLAG but the restaurant refused to let them bring it in.
They don't have a private dining room and said too many people would
be disturbed by the flag hanging while they ate.
FOLKS - THOSE ARE THE REAL BIGOTS.
