So Its Okay For Steelers To Run Up Score
With 3 minutes left and the Steelers leading 31-17 and Ben throws a 5th TD. When we do this, we are heavily critized and called classless. When the Steelers do it, then they "are back on track."
I guess its different rules for the media darling teams. It's a new season! It's a new day!

I was just thinking about that. I'd sure better not ever again hear those whining hypocritical bastards cry about someone running up the score on them.

Gotta pad those stats. Ben has been awful this season.
Through 4 games he had 3 touchdowns and 9 turnovers. He'll pull about even now.

Re: So Its Okay For Steelers To Run Up Score
A lot of Steeler fans were upset that the Ravens were still throwing late in the game, and the 2 point fake extra point, etc etc. Never heard anyone in the media talk about it.
Not sure today counts as running up the score. Tennessee had just scored, and while getting two more TDs in 4 minutes was a tall order, stranger things have happened in the NFL. Maybe Dwyer fumbles the ball (these were his first career carries after all), maybe the Steelers go 3 and out and the punt is blocked, etc etc. Pittsburgh decided to put the last nail in the coffin.
But even if it had been 31-3 with 2 minutes left and they threw the same pass, I wouldn't have cared. Never understood the problem with it. Offense's job is to score. Defense's job is to stop it. The end.

Fans grumbling about running up a score is not on par with the team making such claims.
Nobody in the Stealer organization complained. Rightfully so.

Actually, Hines Ward certainly seemed to:
"It leaves a taste in your mouth," he said. "The 2-point conversion [when the Ravens led, 27-7]. The passing at the end ...
"We'll remember everything."

That sounds a little like complaining, to me, anyway. Guess he's unconcerned if the Titans remember everything.

Y'all are reading too much into that quote, IMO.
Reads to me as if they will remember the loss and being exposed. The 2 point play happened before the game was out of hand. If that happened at the end of the game, I'd agree.

Re: So Its Okay For Steelers To Run Up Score
It doesn't really matter what Ward meant. Is there anyone who didn't think the Steelers wouldn't remember getting their collective asses kicked week 1 and come out loaded for bear in the rematch? That's going to be a war but at least we know that the Ravens can get into the Steelers heads this year.
