More "help" from NFL: longer lines, less booze snuck in
The "Enhanced Pat Down Procedure" is about to rain on us fans:
the NFL will conduct pat downs from the ankles up this season.
In the past, the pat downs went from the waist up.
The enhanced security procedures recommended by our office before the start of the season will further increase the safety of fans but will require some additional time,
Get ready to enter the stadium when it opens at 11:30 am, because lines will double up the wait time.
Moreover: flask in your back pocket? Forget-about-it! I hide miniatures at my ankles under socks -- I would guess so do thousands more. Those will now become fair game for the bozos doing the patting down.In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: More "help" from NFL: longer lines, less booze snuck in
Every time I've gone through the "pat down" is little more than a gentle sweep over my 3 layers of clothing. Really is a joke. I imagine this will just be a the same thing over more area.
While I understand that it is a pain, I blame the league less than I blame the moron who brought a stun gun into Jets stadium last weekend. Until idiots like that stop showing up, expect more of this.
Eventually I do believe technology will make stadiums more secure to the point that they can start to ease up.Actual user comment from a yahoo sports article:

No issue. Booze in the crotch. They will never pat there. Might have to wear your tighty Whiteys though :)

That's pretty much been my way since the get go.:word
Don't touch my junk!!
CY is right, it's all about trying to eliminate booze being snuck in, not safety.
I mean hell, if you wanted, you could get C4 in there very easily.
Soon we're all going to have to go through those x-ray machines they use at airports now to attend a game. Will Die A Ravens Fan!!

I get the booze part. You cannot take beer into Oriole Park either. It pisses me off that you cannot bring food into the stadium.

Watch something other than the funny papers fellas.
This is an (over) reaction to the moron who brought the stun gun into the Jets game last weekend.
