    Predict the Power Ranking

Steelers, Saints, Falcons, Colts lose. Jets look beatable. I know it does not matter, but where will the "experts" rank the Ravens? Depending on how the Patriots look tonight, it could be as high as #2.

I would rank them #1 after destroying what was the #2 team IMO, but still expect to be no higher than 3 nationally unless the Pats lose.

    Top 5, hard to say.

    Packers
    Saints
    Eagles
    Ravens
    Patriots maybe...

(no real order here just naming top team)

But to be honest we all know Power Rankings don't mean a thing

    Re: Predict the Power Ranking

There was no more convincing win by an elite team over another elite team than the Ravens over the Steelers. With the caveat that power ranking are meaningless, I would have to put the Ravens on top after Week 1 assuming tonight's games are not as remarkable as the 35-7 bitch slap was yesterday.

That being said, everytime the Ravens reach the top of a power ranking, they quickly lay an egg and drop fast.

The packers and the saints showed no defense and couldn't be above the Ravens based soley on this season.

They'll be in the top five for sure, but they deserve to be #1 or #2.

Haven't seen the Pats yet, but the Ravens looked like the best, most complete team in football yesterday. There is no question they are the most physical and intimidating now.

They'll be #4 behind the Packers, Patriots (assume they win), and Eagles.

    Re: Predict the Power Ranking

The Ravens will be #1 or #2 the Eagles beat the Rams and the Patriots are playing the Dolphins, both opponents were not in the playoffs last season. Numbers 1 and 2 will be Packers and Ravens or Ravens and Packers. There's no way the Pats and Eagles will be put ahead of the Ravens regardless of what the Pats achieve tonight.

    1 Pack
    2 Pats
    3 Ravens
    4 Iggles

I'm sure the ESPN types would love to put the Iggles ahead of the Ravens.

But they were too high on the Stillers. Now they gotta take the medicine.

Probably behind GB, due to their being a glamor team which also defeated a recent SB Champ. Hard to see how the Patriots could be "ranked" #2 ahead of our team after yesterday.

My first reaction was that this was a joke post, but, upon reflection, da Bears beat the Falcons, and there are some, particularly in the media, who really believe that the Falcons are an elite team and that what's-his-name-with-no-playoff wins is a better QB than Flacco!
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).
