Re: Premier -- The Great Perception Experiment Thread

I look at this schedule, and see at least 10 "gimmes" on it.

Browns and Bengals are both terrible this year, and no moves between now and the start of the season will change that.

The NFC West is even weaker than it was before, and that is really saying something.

We will split with the Steelers, and probably win against either the Chargers or Colts, but not both.

Smells like 12-4 to me, with maybe a pair of "letdown" games keeping them from a sterling 14-2 type record.

    So, 12-4, and division champs.

  2. 2011 Ravens record

Ok, now that the roster looks to be about 90% complete- what are the predictions around these parts for the Ravens. I'll predict a 12-4 record and another trip to the playoffs. But I could also very easily see the Ravens dropping a couple of games in this schedule they're supposed to win. I think this team has a good combo of veteran leaders and young guys ready to make an impact.

Sun. Sept. 18 Tennessee Titans- WIN
Sun. Sept. 25 St. Louis Rams- WIN

I would have to see how the first teams perform during the preseason. I expect some rust and players not being in shape due to the lockout. Also note that John Harbaugh spoke on "revamping" the offense and I feel as if it will take some time to implement the system and have it running on all cylinders will probably take a couple weeks or so.

I do not like having a bye week so early in the season because then you have a lot of games left to play, I liked it last year when it was during the half way point of the season. I hope they improved the players conditioning on defense and the bonus of young guys stepping up (Smith, Webb, Cody, Kindle, etc; ) should help the defense from not getting too winded and added youth to the defense.

I want to say 9-7, but I really like all the moves the Ravens made in the off season so I'll bump it up to 10-6.

I look at that schedule and I only see 1 loss. Which means I am to confident in the Ravens and I am underestimating the competition. I am a homer.

I think we have a very good shot at the AFCN.

But if it's tooth and nail like it always is with the Steelers, we need to win against Houston and San Diego.

They could be direct competition if it comes down to a wild card...

Unless they pick up a free agent or two to fill gaps (RT, pass rusher) it's likely to be a mini-rebuilding-getting 2nd year guys experience- year.

    10-6

    Re: Predict Ravens record

First time in the six or seven years we've been doing this, that i have no idea. I have to think they can get at least ten with this schedule. Since you'll redo this thread after preseason, i'll go 10-6, until the roster is filled out. The o-line and recievers are really a question mark though. Reid, Kindle, Cody, Birk, and Jimmy Smith will tell the story of which way they're going.

No problem, the redo thread does give an opportunity to recalibrate perspectives.

On a more important note, I trust your health is in good order?
