Flacco kicks off throwing sessions today w/ Boldin, Heap, Mason, others

OWINGS MILLS -- Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has organized a week of workouts and throwing sessions with several teammates that kicks off today in Arizona.

Flacco will be throwing to tight ends Todd Heap, Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta and wide receivers Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason and Justin Harper.

"It's really nice out in Arizona," Flacco said earlier this month during a charity appearance. "We get together later this month. We're going to go out to Arizona and hang out with Todd and there's a facility out there. We could probably play a litlte bit of golf, too. It's a pretty nice time of year to do that."

Flacco said he only recently resumed throwing the football and has mostly been running and lifting weights.

That's disappointing to me. Obviously, we have no idea what is going on in these guys lives right now but if I was Reed OR Marcus Smith, knowing that Stallworth and Houshmanzadah probably wont be on the team next year and their 3 and 4 spots are up for grabs, I'd be breaking my neck to get reps in with Flacco.

Building good chemistry with Flacco could be the difference between being included in a 3 or 4 wideout set and being ST fodder with little to no offensive snaps, like they both were last year.

agreed as well with reed, and what about Hardy?

also "I throw it harder than him, I think. He'll tell you differently." does show that competitive nature of flacco.

It's in regard to him tossing a baseball back and forth with his brother. I think is was a jokey comment...
