    Coralling the Colts - 3/6 Martin's West

I just got tickets for this. Looks like it's going to be a good time.

Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards and Fourth & Goal will host Corralin’ the Colts, a reunion of the Baltimore Colts’ 1975, 1976 and 1977 teams, on Sunday, March 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Martin’s West. Proceeds from the Bull and Oyster Roast will benefit Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards and Fourth & Goal’s efforts to assist retired NFL players. The event will feature members of the 1975, 1976 and 1977 Division Champion Baltimore Colts such as Head Coach Ted Marchibroda, Defensive Coordinator Maxie Baughan, Tim Baylor, Randy Burke, Roger Carr, Raymond Chester, Elmer Collett, Fred Cook, Jim Cheyunski, Mike Curtis, Marty Domres, Joe Ehrmann, Ken Huff, Marshall Johnson, Bert Jones, George Kunz, Bruce Laird, Toni Linhart, Don McCauley, Ken Mendenhall, Lydell Mitchell, Lloyd Mumphord, Doug Nettles, Sanders Shiver, Howard Stevens, David Taylor, Rick Volk, and Stan White.

“The Baltimore Colts’ teams of the late 70s were dominating forces in the NFL,” stated Mike Gibbons, executive director of the Babe Ruth Museum. “Baltimore Colts’ fans had strong connection with players, from these teams and others, and we’re looking forward to reuniting everyone in celebration of some great squads.”

With new Head Coach Ted Marchibroda at the helm, the 1975 team engineered one of the greatest turnarounds in NFL history, going from 2-12 in 1974 to 10-4 and the division championship in 1975. Lydell Mitchell became the first Colt player to achieve a 1,000-yard season and Marchibroda earned Coach of the Year honors. The Colts added a second AFC East title in 1976, led by quarterback Bert Jones, who was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player that year. Another 10-4 season in 1977 took the Colts to their third consecutive division title and the playoffs.

“Head Coach Ted Marchibroda built a bond among the members of these teams that has lasted for more than three decades,” said Fourth & Goal President and former Baltimore Colts safety Bruce Laird. “I’m very proud to have been a member of the 1975, 1976 and 1977 Colts and very grateful that my teammates are returning to commemorate our accomplishments and to support two worthy causes.”

Corrallin’ the Colts will feature the bull and oyster roast, a silent auction, autographs (at player’s discretion) and a walk down memory lane with these Baltimore Colts’ teams. Tickets to the event are $60 apiece, and sponsorships are also available at varying levels from $1500 to $10,000. To purchase tickets or to become a sponsor, call 410.727.1539 (ext 3033) or use our event order form.

Great event, and I met many more than I got pics with. Coach Marchibroda was terrific and all the players were so appreciative. Over 700 people were there. Almost in unison the Colts players said BALTIMORE means more to them than the Colts laundry. I felt like a fanboy at age 42, but these were my Colts and it was a blast.
