While reading on PFT about Jim Harbaugh and his demand of $7 million per year I remembered this blog post.
If Jim Harbaugh is worth $7 million per year as an unproven NFL head coach, how much is John worth? $10 million? $14 million?
More importantly, could his asking price factor into making a change at the top, but keep most if not all of the rest of the staff (as happened on the defensive side when Billick was fired)?
With the labor dispute, we are being told that the players are making too much and there isn't enough money left to cover the rest of the expenses plus a profit.
Fair enough, sounds plausible, but is it then possible to turn around and sign your head coach to an extension that surpasses the annual salary of your top player?
