UKRavens Newsletter - Feb./Mar. 2007.

AFC North Champions 2006.

I have now dispensed with the ‘Ravens News’ section for now. As we are a smaller group if you do not know what is happening it’s pretty easy to catch up through our known sources. I ran this section for associate members so there is now no need. There is a lot going on of course - both good and bad!

UKRavens news:

=> Ben S. Shirts for sale:
I recently got a massive bill that even split four ways has pushed me into
the red and coming to the end of University and other things coming in I'm
wanting to get back in the black. Consequently I'm looking to sell a couple
of my Ravens jerseys to help out with funds. The following are for sale if
any of you guys want them:
- Ray Lewis - #52 Black - Large (Minor defect on one of the shoulder
numbers, ask if you're interested and want a picture)
- Deion Sanders - #37 Purple - Large

=> ‘New’ full member:
Chris Quale has now added his WAF to the list. Now uploaded onto the web-site. I had a couple of smirks while reading - particularly when Chris ( a.k.a. Hugh Grant ) mentioned ‘University’ but failed to mention which one he attended! Glad to have you fully on board Chris.

=> UKR Social Giants v Dolphins:
There was a good deal of talk about us meeting up for the game in the UK. The last I heard was from Paul, that we has registered for tickets - but that he was one of about 500,000 other registrations. This said its up to everyone to see what tickets we get - then decide who goes.

=> UKR Social Hull KR @ Harlequins RL - Sat 30th June 1.30pm:
Just to remind you that we are suggesting meeting up in London for this game. If the match is on SKY we may have to re-visit this ( I’m not into wasting money). Put it in your diaries! Glad

=> Tour Roll of Honour:
We’ve stared to compile a list Ravens games attended by everyone. I sent emails to all so that we can include our US associate members first games. Sadly I only got one reply (C’mon guys lend a hand please?)

However, the reply one I got was such a cracker, I’ve decided to re-print it here -hope you don‘t mind. It’s from one of our most quiet members Mark Shanks. Many years ago I thought that I was the biggest Raven fan in the UK, and possibly the only one! Then Mark got in touch:

I've attended quite a lot of Ravens game throughout the years. You'll probably remember I spent three years in Maryland & one in DC playing and coaching the rugby.
Below is a list of games I have attended:
I attended the unveiling of the team uniforms at the Baltimore harbour when I was on holiday there (5th June 96) and have attended training camps at McDaniel College, Westminster - 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006.

I also keep in touch with Ravens & ex-Ravens too, through my contacts within the organisation, with the rugby contacts, through meeting at NFL Europe games and through the Maryland Terps - Morgan Kane, Eric Dumas, Brian Kopka, Nate Bolling, Marques Ogden, Gary Baxter, Tony Pashos, Rob Abiamiri, Mike Flynn.
Are there plans to attend any games next upcoming season? I'd be up for another trip over to Maryland!

* - also attended by others - why did we not meet up?

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Ravens, let’s keep the UKRavens going!
