    Signed Cary Williams

We signed Cary Williams from Titans practice squad.
Never heard of him besides what the site says, anybody know anything about this guy. Well he is tall for a CB and coming from Tenn. might not be to bad considering the talent they have at CB with Finnergan and Harper.

    O'Yeah and FB Charles Ali

Ravens place two on IR, add FB, CB
The Ravens today placed cornerback Fabian Washington (knee) and running back Matt Lawrence (knee) on injured reserve and signed cornerback Cary Williams off the Titans' practice squad and free-agent fullback Charles Ali.

Ali, 6-feet-2 and 255 pounds, played two seasons (2007 and 2008) for the Cleveland Browns before being released. Most recently he was playing for New York of the United Football League.

An undrafted free agent out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Ali made four starts for the Browns in 2008. He was let go by the team on the final cutdown of training camp this past September.

Williams played in 4 games for the Titans earlier this year.

Uh huh, and so did Chris Carr.

I'm assuming this guy was brought in to be an emergency backup to the emergency backups we're getting ready to put in.

McClain has been playing well as a fullback. I suspect this move is more to have a lead blocker when McClain is running. Or just to have a back up for him around.

Maybe they'd like to run McClain and a FB on GL situations.

EXACTLY!!!!! After this weekend's goal line debacle, they felt they needed to take the next step.

Nothing, he has been playing well. Ali was brought in, so we can use McClain at tail back in the short yardage situations. The question is why no Lorenzo Neal. The answer IMO is below.
BTW, they both play special teams. Coach Special Teams is building a hell of an inventory of ST players. Hell if Demetrius Williams was any good on ST's he might get a chance to help at receiver.

There must be something wrong with Lorenzo if he is still on the street.

The FB is probably a spec teams guy.

Yea, probably just shifting around people and filling in gaps for Nakamura.
