Latest Hear-Say
from rotoworld:
"Citing two NFL sources, Yahoo Sports reports that the Ravens "may revisit" the idea of trading for Brandon Marshall."
It reportedly depends on Derrick Mason's status. Baltimore will probably give the supposedly retired receiver another week or so to make up his mind before opening formal trade talks with Denver. Still, Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome has never been one to surrender high draft picks, and the Broncos will almost certainly ask for a 2010 first-rounder. We're betting against a deal.

Re: Latest Hear-Say
Denver is in a really bad position with Marshall. He is obviously disgruntled. He is in camp but has one of those phantom lower back/hammie injuries that is preventing him from doing anything.
Teams usually do not want to keep disgruntled players around as it becomes too much of a distraction. The fact that Cutler is gone and the passing game is more than likely to struggle is only going to make things worse.
His value is also diminished due to his off the field transgressions. It might come down to the Broncos having to take the best available offer for him.

Re: Latest Hear-Say
I think we'd have to trade a player with a big salary to get it done.

Re: Latest Hear-Say
Do not want. It will be great when we cant afford Gaither or Ngata and then Marshall beats the crap out of his girlfriend and he is gone too. Cant have a Pro-bowler at every position in the NFL. Our receivers will be fine as is (with or without Mason).

In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: Latest Hear-Say
What has Gaither done to earn anything close to being the highest paid LT in the league? He played good last year, but he was far from dominant.
Ngata will get his money from the Ravens.

Re: Latest Hear-Say
What Gaither has done is start at the most important offensive position other than QB, and is a super young athletic freak entering a contract year. In an ideal world Ozzie gives them both extensions early and saves some money, but he never does that and we end up paying huge contracts to keep guys. Gaither will be paid a big contract, never said highest paid for position, but he will get paid by someone.

Re: Latest Hear-Say
All you have to do is start in J.O.'s spot, only allow 3 sack vs the top pass rushers in the NFL and with an injured shoulder most of the year. It also helps if you are 6-9 330-340.
Define dominant? Did he push the pile on almost every 3rd and short and rushing TD as well as protect Flacco's back?
Maybe he is no J.O., but maybe he is.

Re: Latest Hear-Say
Well he's still a long way from J.O. at this point. Can't say that after only 1 year as a starter. How much help did he get from tight ends and running backs staying in to block? Not saying the guy isn't good or couldn't become very good to great, but if the Ravens make him the highest paid LT in the league they will be drastically over-paying. That's the kind of stuff the Deadskins do.
Oh yeah, you were the guy who said us getting Gaither in the 5th round was a steal on the level of the Pats getting Brady in the 6th. :insane:
