No that is the story AND continues to be the story.

Its like saying the guy down the road must be wealthy because he has a huge house, big ol' SUV and a 60 inch flat panel....but he can't afford to go on vacation because he is strapped by credit car bills, mortgage payments and his car loan.

Right, now he is an "entertainer" but last month he was your godsend of conservative ideology. You sure you have today's direction of the wind right?

He is a nutjob that is the poster boy of conservative media right now. The only good thing about his presence is that he is so out there that he is making Hannity, Coulter, OReilly and hopefully Rush obselete. In the age of sensationalistic media from the right, its whoever proposes the most extreme idiocracy that gets the attention only to burn out just like the latest and greatest but now obselete video game.

And the gun debate intertwined in this thread is plain silly. A nut job is a nut job -- the tool he uses to cause his death is completely irrelevant. It's an emotionalistic response to a problem that requires a solution void of emotion.

Since FBI stats are being thrown around, the violent crime rate in areas that have liberal carry laws are well below areas of the country and have banned any sort of weapons carrying. Texas, Florida, Arizona are but 3 examples of areas of the country where the violent crime is nothing compared to say .... Pittsburgh for example.
No, it is a fear that hatemongers like Beck and the rest will actually convince the under informed American public of complete lies.. These American Idol, reality show watching, know nothing about American history or politics except what said hatemongers push on them americans... are becoming the laughing stock of the rest of the civic minded world.... AND they're all (These agenda driven, name calling doom saying talk show hosts)getting rich doing it! And they're convincing these same mind-numbed citizens that they should have less and like it!!! Just mind boggling!

Have you been in the US the last 10 years?

The middle class is RAPIDLY decreasing in size every single day. It is scary.

You have it so wrong, Obama is the president whose policies are pandering to the uber- rich. The have's in our society are stealing our assets at drastically discounted prices.

It is you that is scarty dude. How can you sit by and smile and think everything is great? The Anerican dream is being taken from us, and you are happy?
Call me an alarmist, bur you are asleep at the wheel. But then again, you're a global warmist too. That says it all.
"Obviously it was fake and bloated spending..."so how was it a good economy...? That makes NO SENSE. If it was fake, then it was an apparition, and floated on non existing money... People became wealthy... where is the money? what happened to it? Oh, it didn't exist. Then how was it a good economy? It was all smoke and mirrors... mainly because of the further deregulation of the Stock Market... How was that good?
IT WAS the cause of our problems today... How was that a good economy? It widened the gap between the haves and the have nots. It facilitated the Madoffs. How was that a goos economy?

I think jonboy had the same english teacher as trap.

First of all, be careful what you ask because the answer to your above question will only lead you to have acknowledge that the U.S. was stronger coming out of a democratic Clinton Presidency than a republican Bush Presidency.

Secondly, and more to the point of the economic situation during the Bush presidency - disposable dollars do not include credit cards and refinaced ARM's which was what Bush's economy was built on ---- which you admit in one post but then dismiss as somehow unimportant.

Or we are casually writing first drafts on a message board. I could care less about my typing and sentence structure. Message board.

The country was in rough shape coming out of Bush's presidency, no crazy statement there, he was not a conservative. He spent like a drunken sailor.

Secondly, besides credit people had more money. JOBS were plentiful and paid well. If you haven't lost your job yet, you probably have taken a pay cut.
