It feels like you are making a technical distinction to win the argument rather than to actually discuss the issue.

The discussion before you jumped in was the degree to which Harbaugh and his staff had to help Lamar acclimate to the NFL. You asserted that he was ready-made except for mechanics and I refuted that by saying he had other issues.

Going back to what you saw at Louisville doesn't change what I saw in '18 and '19. You can point to all the Louisville tape you want but you're not going to convince me that he was Tom Brady with just a mechanical flaw or however it is you see it.

So instead of worrying about who is misquoting who here, let just go back to what I suggested and disagree about the amount of work Lamar needed to become the QB he is today.

I apologize for calling your point of view naive. I should have just said it is an opinion I don't share.
Shaslers, the statement I made, that you specifically quoted, was "His ability to go through his reads was great for a prospect." Your reponse was "Disagree. One read and run". That's the only reason I argued it.

That aside, I don't think you're giving enough credence to the difference in passing scheme. At Louisville, he plays in a Pro style passing game with pro style spacing and progressions. Greg Roman's passing scheme didn't have a full utilization of the field and used very high schoolish route combinations. There weren't four reads for him to go through and it was designed that if read one or two weren't there, for him to run. You saw something, but I don't think you're considering enough of the reality that he could only work with what was schematically there. And there was a lot more schematically there in the offense he ran at Louisville, than there was in Greg Roman's passing scheme. It's a high schoolish passing scheme. That's why I talked about how many reputable football guys who do tons of film study, have referred to it as such. You can't do what the scheme doesn't allow you to do.
