USAID Waste and Abuse Runs Deep
    By David Arnett
Secretary of State Marco Rubio unveiled plans to restructure and potentially abolish the U.S. Agency for International Development on Monday.

In a release late in the day, the White House documented why. For decades the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been unaccountable to taxpayers while it has funneled massive sums of money to often ridiculous – and in many cases, malicious – pet projects of entrenched bureaucrats with next-to-no oversight.

Here are a few examples of the waste and abuse:

$1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”
$70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland
$2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam
$47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
$32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru
$2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala
$6 million to fund tourism in Egypt
Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation
Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab
“Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria”
Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries
Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban

And you have to wonder how much of that went into the pockets of bureaucrats and lobbyists?

Under half of the money sent to Ukraine has a paper trail.

I always joked that the Biden Crime family got their 10% and Zelinsky got his 10%, but it looks like they each got 30%….

Nah, we don’t need no stinking DOGE…. All the money is spent magnificently….

This shit, and no tariffs on China for the past 30 years is why we have a national debt….

Career fbi agents are being dismissed for working on the January 6 case against the trespassers on the capital. FBI leadership also has been asked to turn over a list of its agents who worked on cases involving the 1,500 Jan. 6 cases — putting at risk some 2,400 agents who worked on the largest prosecutorial undertaking in DOJ history. How petty and stupid can you be! FBI agents take 1 1/2 years of training to be ready. Can you imagine if a mayor was re-elected who was prosecuted by the city government. Then they fire every detective and police officer who worked on their case. This is the same of what Trump is doing.

Good! The FBI has to be drastically changed. They cannot be allowed to continue as part of the DNC.

    Re: This is Trump’s America

So just wanted to post this because sone posters questioned whether the offer to leave and not return back to office for federal employees was an actual severance involved and would those choosing to leave and not work actually get paid.

The White House sent out a second email with new information Monday morning, saying the offer will be fully valid for all employees who are scheduled to retire by the end of this year.

"If your retirement date is between Oct. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2025, you are still eligible for deferred resignation," it says. "If your retirement date is within this window, your deferred resignation date will be extended to match your retirement date."

The email also says employees can have formal paperwork filled out by their agency outlining the terms of the agreement, again to reassure them that the offer is valid and will be fulfilled.

Another section explains that in the event of a federal government shutdown, pay for employees could be cut or paused regardless of whether they take the resignation offer, and anyone who resigns will receive back pay once the government is back open.

An FAQ section on the Office of Personnel Management website says employees will not have to work during the deferred resignation period, and they can even accept a new job and be paid for both through the end of September.

I got a text from a friend today that works for FAA. He is taking the resignation buy out VERA, retiring this coming Thursday unless he hears otherwise. Sounds like he will be paid until September. He was retiring 9 months later anyway so he is ecstatic.

Trump is trying to thread the needle between his new found relationship with our tech oligarchs, American jobs and workers, and keeping the US and it's companies competitive. We'll see how he does.

I'm unemployed right now and 4 or 5 of my former co-workers are still out of work. Some of them are H1's and they have 60 days to find new employment or I think they lose their Visas and have to return to India. I feel terrible for them. Very nice hard working and smart people. I think the issue of outsourcing may be one that candidates of both party can make hay off of at the mid-terms.

I'm not working so I'm not throwing bombs or looking down on anyone here.

I believe it's possible we are in the early stages of seeing companies pulling back on hiring in anticipation of or due to the advent of AI. I could be wrong but I think companies may be worried about over-hiring and missing out on huge cost savings due to AI enhanced productivity and it's ability to reduce their overhead.

I am finishing up a cup of coffee and will be dragging my 59 yr old carcass downstairs to paint cabinets and run some trim and finish up a drop ceiling. AI can't do that yet and my wife is cracking the whip.
I had not read that until I saw this article just now. If this is true it could help explain why the tech market is crap (or so I've heard) right now.

He's right about one thing. They were trespassers, not insurrectionists. At most, they should have been charged with misdemeanor trespassing and property damage. One has to wonder how much of the actual violence, such as it was, was carried out by leftwing plants and undercover FBI agitators. How odd, also, that Pelosi refused military protection when it was offered. The whole thing reeks. That the Jan 6 committee destroyed all its evidence is all you need to know about what this thing was, a preplanned event used to try to sink Trump for good. We saw how that worked out.

As I've said before it doesn't take much to start the herd. No doubt in my mind this was a set up.
