The 17-year-old Octavian was at Apollonia (in present-day Albania) when the news of Caesar’s death and his own inheritance arrived. As the first Roman emperor (though he never claimed the title for himself), Augustus led Rome’s transformation from republic to empire during the tumultuous years following the assassination of his great-uncle and adoptive father Julius Caesar. August expanded the Roman network of roads, founded the Praetorian Guard and the Roman postal service and remade Rome with both grand (a new forum) and practical gestures (police and fire departments). He shrewdly combined military might, institution-building and lawmaking to become Rome’s sole ruler, laying the foundations of the 200-year Pax Romana (Roman Peace).Dr. Martin Luther King Most Famous Quote:
If we can spend $35 billion dollars a year to fight an ill-considered war in Vietnam. Our nation can spend billions of dollars on Gods' Children to stand on their own two feet!

Powerful Teaching Quote To Mark Antony Son:
"Your heart beats because I spared your life! The water you drink comes to you because of Agrippa. The food you eat is grown by the mob you want to destroy!"
A step daddy (Tiberius), a loving husband, a man of peace and redistributed the wealth of the greedy nobles to improve the lives of its citizens.
The true 50/50 relationship: Livia a partner in power and influence https://worldhistoryedu.com/livia-dr...ugustuss-wife/
His wife Livia exemplified Roman ideals of modesty, industry, and fidelity, serving as a role model for women of the empire. Her influence was not limited to her immediate family; she played a crucial role in Roman politics by advocating for allies and shaping the imperial court. Augustus died in AD 14, leaving Livia a central figure in the imperial court. He adopted her into the Julian family and granted her the honorific title Julia Augusta. These actions solidified her position as the matriarch of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. In his will, Augustus left a third of his wealth to Livia, demonstrating his trust in her stewardship.Last edited by simplesimon; Yesterday at 05:08 PM.
