Re: Other NFL Games: Week 13

Glad I didn't watch this. And didn't watch the Lions game yesterday either. Two suspicious game endings, back to back.

That's why I figure the Chiefs will sail through the rest of the season. To add drama with the potential for a 3peat.

Then in the playoffs they will get knocked out. I hate to say it but this is already pre-determined. No 3peat.
    Yeah.

Don't think they'll win it again. Could honestly see them getting knocked in the divisional by us or Buffalo.

There aren't really any dominating teams this year. The Ravens look like they are the best team on most days, but then you have the Steeler, Browns, and Raiders games.

That's not going to hold up in the playoffs. I would not be shocked if the Chiefs get bounced in their 1st game in the playoffs this year

The devil might be all too human in this case.

Yeah but on the other hand- think about how much additional revenue is generated every time Taylor Swift gets screen time and her fans tune in during the playoffs, not to mention the SuperBowl.
I know it’s the national FOOTBALL league, but I guarantee the league execs are well aware of the Swiftie factor. They’re trying to make the nfl a global enterprise and by bringing Taylor Swift into the mix they are increasing their audience (and $$) by many, many millions

I think I need counseling for football addiction cause I don't want to watch this shit anymore, and yet here I am.
Years ago I heard some fitness expert explain how he resisted donuts, pizza, soda, etc. He basically said that was able to convince himself that he was better than the junk food, that he wasn't "the type of person" who eat that stuff.

Mindset, ego, identity -- call it what you will. Once created, he could use it to stiff arm the food. It was an affront to his identity. Being snob about it worked. Looking down your nose at the people who ate the garbage worked.

A few years ago I took that approach to Thursday Night Football. (Ravens games and Thanksgiving excluded).

The games are likely junk food, empty calories, and a time suck. Like that fitness expert, like the women in the 80s Loreal commercials, I walk away becacause "I'm worth it."

Psychological hocum, but it works for me. Maybe it'll work for you too.

I agree with most of the sentiment here. Even last year you could chalk up the Chiefs' close calls/losses to playing with their food too much and getting burned, but you wouldn't have been surprised if they pulled it together just in time to make another SB run. And, well......

This year feels different. They're not really playing with their food anymore, I think they're just a bunch of fat cats now so to say. And someone (ideally us) will take them out in January. Seriously, I'll be straight stunned if they manage to again somehow get right come the playoffs and pull off the 3-peat.

    Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes.

At this point it’s approaching Belicheck Brady type coach QB connection.

I can’t count them out. No matter how different they’ve looked.

At this point I assume they will win 7 of the next 10 and this year could absolutely be one of the wins or the losses. Until they lose, I assime they win the Super Bowl.

I think Antonio Pierce said his team heard a whistle that should have blown the play dead. Details anyone?

This. Until someone goes out and beats them in the playoffs, they are the favorites.
