Agreed but usually it was a gradual process. Here we are talking about 2 new guards with little experience thrown into the fire.

Yeah he's a beast but it would be more impressive if we gave him a decent blocking OL so he will be good in the late season and playoffs.

Getting hit before he gets to the line will only wear him down quicker.

In a position group with 5 starters it's hard to not have some turnover or some question marks each year. At the moment we look like we'll have 11 picks next year (4 of those being comp picks). I wouldn't be surprised to see them draft multiple offensive lineman before the end of round 5.

That was my point. I thought this draft we would draft more quality OL because we lost 3 in the off-season. We got 1 potential future starter in the draft and once again didn't draft heavy for the OL. Next season looks like we are in the same boat. Hope we draft 2 early round OL.

With all those upcoming picks there's no reason to not draft more OL so that we can develop a strong OL unit for more than one year.

Who called/set protections last year? Was it Zeitler, I can’t see them trusting or putting that on a rookie especially not from day one. I usually watch it most times with out sound as I’m watching several games especially at 1 o’clock.

And I thought Linderbaum was in his second year. I thought he was very good at C in his second season. He just gets better each season.

He should be the cornerstone of this OL for years to come(if he is re-signed).

RT is going to be a problem for sure. Mekari is a good backup but he never was good enough for long term solution IMO. I’ve seen him get manhandled plenty of times, but it was still good for a backup.
