Preseason Game 1 vs PHI- Early Discussion

This is not a game thread, just a discussion leading up to the game. We're less than a week away so why not?

This game will be the Ravens' first since January. We probably won't see many starters but will likely see many undrafted and day 3 draftees. So- what are the expectations?

Personally, in the first preseason game I'm interested in seeing how the youngsters' performance matches up to the training camp hype we've heard from the press. If the guys who have been talked up by the writers/coaches end up performing well then that's (usually) a good thing. In the preseason 1 game I really enjoy seeing those fringe players going all out because it may mean the difference between a roster spot, Practice Squad, or nothing.

Good thread buddy, I’m mostly interested in watching the oline combinations, I know hardly any starters will play but it will be nice to see guys get some live reps all over

I’ll be looking forward to getting my first real look at any and all of our draft picks. Does anyone know if Adisa Issac is practicing yet? He was someone I was hoping to focus on.

WR Malik Cunningham
OL Andrew Vorhees
OL Daniel Faalele
OL Josh Jones
EDGE David Ojabo
EDGE Tavius Robinson
CB Jalyn Armour-Davis
CB Pepe Williams

I know a lot of people will say Travis Jones and Trenton Simpson as well; I just have a lot of confidence in them.

Finally get to see Ravens on the game field. Definitely going to be all depth end of roster players.
I love the preseason. Got to get the young players some live action games.

Definitely all the Oline players. The C we drafted, Dalcourt , Pearl , hopefully Roger R.
But Vorhees too. Maybe Jones at LT i really want to see. Make sure he solid to spilt rotation with Stanley.
Looking forward to seeing Orr calling plays. Vanilla of course, but feel the vibe.

Safety Sane and Brade battling .
Harrison, Evans ,Ojabo getting some rushes.

I too believe in Travis Jones And Simpson. Good players and Ravens.

Wallace and Wade.

Who returning ? Ali , Wallace , someone. Definitely excited to see how our special teams adjust. Love it.

The QB Battle. Leary and Emory.

This is where you see who's on the bubble, and whose has burst. On an individual level, a young player can possibly make or break the roster/practice squad depending on one single play. Drop that pass, or interception, or fumble, and you're in hot water. There's a lot of pressure coming son... Bc

Wonder who the hero of preseason that everyone gets excited about, only to never see him or hear about him again once the season starts.

Maybe they figure out backup QB in preseason, other than that just stay healthy.

Isaac hasn't participated in team activities since late May. That must be one helluva hamstring injury he has.

Last time I saw Ojabo in preseason he was getting put in the dirt by TEs. Need to see something else.

The problem is our 3rd stringers will be playing against the Eagles 3rd stringers so that is not a very good evaluation. Most of these guys on both teams won't be playing in September. So as much as would like the new Oline, they won't be playing against real DL who will play in September. The only thing I like about the 1st preseason game is seeing who bought their season ticket again this season and seeing friends I have made over the years. Of course somebody will complain about having the pay regular season prices for a practice game. Go Ravens!!
