Re: Hurricane Season
In the 70's they told us if we didn't stop using aerosol cans we would have another ice age, then Al Gore came along in the early 2000's and told us that by 2013 the ice caps would be gone in the Artic. The Government has lied to us over and over.......but we're supposed to believe them this time......this time they are telling us the truth.
The government spent billions of dollars creating a recharging network for EV's......they built 8.........EIGHT! recharging stations in 3 1/2 years. EIGHT!!!!!!Always buying Antique and vintage items......

Re: Hurricane Season
Actually there was a Massive hole in the Ozone that was solved by those aerosols being banned by a climate treaty and not being used anymore.
"In 1987, the Montreal Protocol was adopted to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the chemicals which deplete it. To support compliance, the treaty recognised "common but differentiated responsibilities", staggering phase-out schedules for developed and developing countries and establishing a multilateral fund to provide financial and technical assistance to help developing countries meet their obligations.
During the 1990s and early-2000s, the production and consumption of CFCs was brought to a halt. By 2009, 98% of the chemicals agreed to in the treaty had been phased out. Six amendments — which the treaty allows when scientific evidence shows further action is needed — have led to ever-tightening restrictions on substances introduced to replace CFCs, such as hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). While good for the ozone layer, these replacements turned out to be bad for the climate. The global warming potential of the most commonly used HCFC, for example, is almost 2,000 times stronger than carbon dioxide."
The discovery of the ozone layer hole in the 1980s promoted successful international cooperation to phase out the use of harmful chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Scientists say the ozone hole is continuing to shrink and could fully repair by 2050PROUD DISABLED VETERAN DESPITE RSR HATRED

When trillions of dollars are spent on climate control......LOL (just saying "climate control" makes me giggle) makes the subject politicized.

Re: Hurricane Season
I dont view Hurricanes as inherently political but Princeton says otherwise
"Princeton University-led research found that people’s view of future storm threat is based on their hurricane experience, gender and political affiliation, despite ample evidence that Atlantic hurricanes are getting stronger."

Re: Hurricane Season
Not believing in Climate Change is not an excuse to not invest in hurricane preparedness and response.

Re: Hurricane Season
News Flash: Of course climate change is happening. The climate has been changing for billions of years. There's been four recorded ice ages, most of earth has been covered in ice and snow.......it melted. Why? Climate change. Man was no where to be found.
Of course there is climate change, the problem is in thinking that somehow if we just spend enough money we can somehow reverse it. Oh and BTW, it was told to us that the reason there was climate change in the first place was because of the hole in the ozone layer.......now it's supposed to be fixed? Yet there is still climate change?
That is my point, we were told in the 70's that we were facing a possible ice age.......then along comes Al Gore and tells us nope.......the Artic ice caps will be gone by 2013. We heard 20 years ago that islands will disappear, coastal towns and cities will be swallowed up by the sea. Point is we've been told that the end was near as far as cataclysmic weather events since weather has been recorded. Problem is people look at an incredibly small sample size of the weather. Earth has been here for 4 billion years, it's experienced both ice ages and the surface of the earth being hot as the hell. 4 BILLION years! The earth inhabitants have been almost completely wiped out many times, what makes us so arrogant that mother nature hasn't planned to take us out as well? Re: Hurricane Season
I will debate. First, Galveston in the very early 20th century. Look it up.
Then look for big ones earlier. Oh? You can't find any? That's because they weren't recorded like they are now. Who knows how bad the hurricanes were 300, 3,000, 30,000 or more years ago? How about millions of years ago.
This planet is 4,5 BILLION years old and we are supposed to make drastic changes that will mostly impact the poorest of the poor based on 150 years or so of data out of 4,5 billion years.
Think about that.
