We Should Trade for CeeDee Lamb.

The belief is that Lamb may hold out of training camp if he's not given a deal before it starts. I believe we should trade for him. For a number of reasons (In no particular order):

    - He may be the best WR in the league not named Justin Jefferson
    - He'd be by far the best WR Lamar's ever had to work with
    - His presence could help take our passing game to a level we didn't even see when Vinny was here and there's been a pattern over the past half decade of teams with higher quality passing games, winning titles
    - Not only would teams be unable to stack the box against us in the playoffs, but they wouldn't even be able to show stacked looks the way KC did, without taking extreme risk. It'd practically be suicide.
    - It adds high quality depth to the WR position. Right now, if anything happens to Zay, we really have nothing behind him. Now, we can withstand a potential injury and still leave Lamar with a high quality WR
    - He requires constant double teams.
    - That opens up single coverage opportunities for Zay and creates nightmarish choices in how defenses defend Likely and Andrews
    - It stretches the defense horizontally, which creates more space for the outside zone runs that Monken wants to emphasize and that Henry is known for being deadly on.
    - It creates a collection of talent which, if the line plays adequately, creates an offense that could not only near 40 PPG, but still hang around 35 PPG in the case of an injury (Andrews, for example)
    - It gives us the boundary WR we lack
    - Lamb is going to be substantially better at making contested catches than Bateman
    - On a personal note, I believe Lamar is a better passing QB than Dak
    - Now is an ideal time to pay top dollar to a WR, because if we just go the draft route in the 1st or 2nd round of 25', we're essentially conceding that either that guy or Zay will only be here for 3-4 years, because we'd create a scenario where both need contracts in a 1-2 year span
    - When Lamb's contract is nearing it's end, it'll be Zay's turn. You could then pay Zay, who should be a league-wide, no questions asked, legitimate #1 WR by then. You can then move Lamb or allow him to move on when his contract ends.
    - Lamb will have to play on his 5th year option no matter what, and based on the cap space we currently have, restructuring Lamar and including Bateman in the deal, covers his 5th year option. While we maintain other ways to create smaller levels of cap space in the case of August signings.
    - You enter the playoffs likely able to win a game throwing 40 times or running 40 times, because defenses can't truly key in on either.
    - With the space created from the fear of the passing game, Henry wouldn't have to be treated like a workhorse and could probably end up with the highest YPC of his career. You could preserve him for the long stretch.

    What you sacrifice:

    - Humphrey, whose replacement was just drafted
    - Stanley, whose replacement was just drafted
    - Ricard, whose usage diminished last year under Monken
    - Williams, who hasn't been able to stay healthy anyway.

The only guy of note is Stephens, who may then be at risk. But in my opinion, losing Stephens is worth it if it means creating an offense of that caliber.

Sacrifice (4) All-Pro level players for a freaking WR.
Is his post of pure drivel fan-fiction was hilarious and showed a substantial lack of salary cap/roster construction knowledge per usual.

Maybe Zay and 2 firsts though, lol

Lamb is a great player and worth the massive contract that will eventually get. The Cowboys have told him that he will be signed. I can't see them trading him or Parsons or Dak. The Cowboys are taking 1 more shot at a Super Bowl win with this team. They're going to keep it together in 2024.

If you're asking me what my gut honestly tells me, it tells me that they will pay CeeDee, even before paying Dak, and would want CeeDee in place for whoever the next QB is. That said, if there's a chance they'd shop him, I think we need to be assertive.

Re: We Should Trade for CeeDee Lamb.

The idea of us paying a wide receiver the same we'll be paying two time MVP Lamar Jackson is completely asenine, but the OP does bring up some interesting players who are likely facing their last season with the Ravens.

I think Hump might be gone. Stephens is far and away our best cornerback now and is going to get paid.

Marcus Williams has missed at least 13 games over the last two years. We're gonna pay Hamilton (A guy I did not want us to draft) a ton of money.

I'd cut Stanley right now if he weren't so expensive.

Mandrews has a new contract coming up. Do we add a couple of years to let him and Likely keep scaring teams?

Good grief. We need an O-Line now more than anything.

I'm generally the first one screaming about getting a great o-line, but Coach Wallace said something at our championship reunion last week about the offensive line. He said that the coaching staff had to realize there's only a limited amount of resources, talking about scholarships. One place they could shave a little bit was on the offensive line; we ran a triple-option so there a 6'5 powerhouse tackle isn't requirement. They could find those smaller guys who have skills and strength, just not D-1 size. Give them a partial scholarship, then put the starters on full rides. Or have someone like me who was a very small three-technique switch to split-guard.

Ravens can do the same thing. What we're looking for now is athletic guys who can get out and block on the second level. We've thankfully gotten away from the power running scheme, so those blue-chippers aren't as necessary. I think our offensive line is perfectly fine the way it is, honestly. We'll have to replace Stanely, but he hasn't been better than above-average for a while. Faalele and Aumavae-Laulu are the types of guys we'll start looking for. They're both extremely athletic, just needing some reps.

One of my absolute favorite players from the 2023 draft, Tashawn Manning, is, unfortunately, not the right kind of lineman that would make the new look Ravens. He's a power guy with limited athletic potential. Cleveland is the same type.
