OT: Football (Soccer) History in England and Germany.

Congratulations to Manchester City for becoming the first club to win the English Premier League Title, four years in a row.

And even BIGGER congratulations to Bayer Leverkusen. Not only for winning their first ever Bundesliga Title in club history, not only for ending Bayern Munich's 11 year reign as German Champions, but for becoming the first German 'Invincibles' in history. And they did it, largely with cast offs from other clubs.

YEARS ago, Jose Mourinho predicted that Xabi Alonso would go on to become a great Manager. Jose is usually a minimum of 90% right with his predictions or thoughts on players and Managers. And he was right again here.

I'm triple pissed. First that Liverpool threw the title away after being in front with two months to go. Then Alonso decided not to come to Anfield. And I'm also a Bayern fan.
    Great achievements nonetheless.

Still waiting for the day Newcastle finally put this Saudi money to good use and make a run in the top 4.

Meanwhile my other team (local) Plymouth Argyle managed to avoid relegation from their first season back in the championship!

Hey that's really good. Championship is hardest league in the world. Staying up in the first year back is a really good achievement.
My childhood team won the FA Cup for the first time ever, after 103 years of existence. Until the NFL season starts, I'll be as happy as Larry lol.

It's the Harry Kane curse. There's no other explanation. Lol.

By the way, WHO is going to manage Bayern for the upcoming season? I've never seen Bayern in the sort of mess they've been in since pushing out Flick.

Cool Re: OT: Football (Soccer) History in England and Germany.

Since Ex started this thread, and I admit I don't know a lot about soccer, does the game include WRs?

    Just curious ... Bc

Too funny you mention Jose Mourinho in all of this. This whole run of Man City success can be traced back to Mourinho telling Kevin DeBruyne he wasn't good enough to play for Chelsea. Mourinho let Mo Salah go as well, although that one wasn't as obvious a blunder at the time as DeBruyne. He may be right 90% of the time, but that 10% contains some historical doozies.

I'm just hoping Cole Palmer is Pep's historical blunder going the other way.

I must have jinxed Leverkusen. Atalanta is laying some smackdown in the Europa League Final.

Atalanta has a good team. They won 3-0 at Liverpool too
