Re: And Another thing about Rashod Bateman Believers!
You cannot extrapolate Likely's statistics into a full season and think he is going to produce at that level as a #2 TE. In 2023, Mark Andrews missed several games, in which Likely took over as the #1 TE with 21 receptions (30 targets), 322 yards (15.3/YPC), and 5 TDs in those 6 games. He isn't going to get that if Mark Andrews is on the field.

Re: And Another thing about Rashod Bateman Believers!
Agreed Bc. Likely was asked to be The Man, and showed he could do it. Whether he gets that opportunity again is to be seen.
But Bateman was given the opportunity to be The Man several times, and thus far hasn't been able to. More due to injury than ability, but Bateman is a supplementary piece until he proves otherwise, whereas Likely has shown he can be whatever you need him to be."Chin up, chest out."

I want the Ravens to give Batey the freedom to do stuff like this, I know he has the footwork and agility to do it:

@ryanmink
Nate Wiggins said Rashod Bateman has been the toughest wide receiver for him to cover at OTAs so far.
Said Bateman is very shifty and there’s a lot of quickness throughout his routes.

Re: And Another thing about Rashod Bateman Believers!
This is information we already knew. Nobody is talking about what he does when the ball gets there. Nobody is talking about what he does when the coverage is tight. Nobody is talking about what he does after the initial play breaks down. I was on an island for Maclin, I was on an island for Crabtree, I'm not on an island for this one because we've seen this play out so many times. The Ravens think they can run a low volume passing offense where the margin for error is much smaller, and make it work with bargain WRs. And the only other team that makes it work, has a Top 5 WR duo. And they just drafted Pearsall, in case they have to let one of them go.

“He’s, INCREDIBLY shifty, nobody can keep up with him.”
“Hal, he’s a snake.”
“Yeah but look at that change of direction!”
“Hal, how can he catch a ball, he’s got no hands.”
“Best route runner on the team.”
“HE’S A SNAKE, HAL, HE’S GOT NO F***IN HANDS!”

Re: And Another thing about Rashod Bateman Believers!
Man we are really holding onto this narrative that we are a low volume passing team?
with the Ravens embracing a pass-first philosophy this season — according to the analytics site RBSDM.com, their early-down pass rate in competitive games (58%) is the NFL's seventh highestAlthough Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.
