Nah, he’s good depth and one of a likely or Andrews are gone after this year.

    Andrews is going nowhere

Both andrews and likely aren't UFA until 2026. We are probably gonna let them play it out until then and see who gets the new deal

I know people talk about Monken featuring his TEs in college, but weren't his WRs just bad? To the point that the TEs were the actual best pass catchers? There's no reason for me to believe he'll run primarily 2 TE sets when he rarely did last year. And with Bateman's extension, and drafting Tez, Likely will not get the chances many think he will, imo. Which completely removes Kolar from gameplans
Georgia had recievers while Monken was there.
AD Mitchell, Ladd, Pickens. I think he used the 2 tight end sets to run the ball because the run blocking wasn't great.

It would be criminal not get Likely more opportunities.

Not sure it’s the best use of resources to have two top 10 TE’s and play one at a time.

They had the opportunity last season when Andrews was healthy and barely ever chose to play them both at the same time.

Agreed. Neither goes anywhere until those contracts expire. Nether might even go after that. I wouldn't be shocked if they both don't get new deals. The Ravens had no issue when they had to pay Boyle and Andrews. It's possible they pay both especially if they aren't paying big money for a wide receiver

Pending figuring out how to get production from both simultaneously, sure. That’s the struggle I see. All this “talk” of 2 TE being Monken’s preference because of a single season at GA, but he sure couldn’t get them to produce at the same time when both were healthy last season, like the playoffs.

Here's where we part company. In his two years as a Raven, Likely has proven himself. His 8 TDs out of 100 targets (66 receptions/13.7 YPC) cannot be disregarded. I'm not trying to knock him, but Bateman has had 152 targets with a mere 4 TDs (93 catches/12.5 YPC). IMO Likely has elevated himself almost to Andrews and Flowers territory for LJ8... Bc

I fully agree that Likely is a great player. In fact, I think the offense has more potential with Likely than it does Andrews, even if that's an unpopular opinion.

However, I don't believe Monken will feature a 2 TE offense. We didn't see much of Likely unless Andrews was out. If Monken had plans to run two TE sets with both of them going out for routes, we'd have seen more of it last year

Let's look at it this way. Likely started half the season as the #1 TE. Agholor, the #4 WR, still had almost 100 more snaps on the season. Monken had no desire to play Andrews and Likely a lot together and I can't imagine that changes this year with Bateman's extension and the drafting of Walker

Pickens was hurt all year, that first championship season. He came back for the CFB playoffs.

Ladd was a redshirt freshman & sophomore. Adonai Mitchell was a true freshman & sophomore; and seems he was hurt too, played just 6 games in '22.

Looks like Georgia's WR depth was really stretched in '22. And they had two good TEs.
