Welcome to Baltimore Devin Leary QB, UK

    6th-round, #218.

    Chris Trapasso of CBS writes:

Never quite developed after huge year early in his NC State career. But certainly has NFL-caliber arm strength. Many impressive in-pocket throws on film. Just crumbles under pressure.
    Oops. Matt Waldman writes:

Leary has the arm strength and fundamentals to earn a shot at a roster spot. He surveys the field and finds secondary options routinely. He targets tight coverage with good placement downfield.
He has difficulty making accurate reads with trail coverage and he’s not adept at diagnosing different forms of pressure. His overall accuracy is restricted to the short and intermediate ranges of the field.
His fundamentals and accuracy give him a shot at earning playing time in a professional league, but unlikely a long-term roster spot in the NFL – at least not until he’s had some stints to develop elsewhere.

Now post all the negatives about the guy like he will be 25, lengthy injury history to further be accurate with the profile.

    Absurdly stupid pick

What a waste of a 6th round pick. Nothing more than a camp body.

Maybe the most ridiculous pick by EDC ever. They must be smoking some good stuff in the draft room.

Inconsistent pocket passer with slightly below-average size coming off a two-year run that seemed to kill the legitimate buzz created in his sophomore season. Leary's tape shows flashes of accuracy, touch and football intelligence, but it's not sustained often enough. He has an NFL arm with good life on his drive throws and might have potential in a play-action based passing scheme if a coach can iron out some of the field-reading and decision-making issues. Leary's receivers did him few favors, and there are enough splashy throws to make him a dark-horse prospect worthy of a late Day 3 selection.

Question Re: Welcome to Baltimore Devin Leary QB, UK

If we had to go QB, then why not draft Michael Pratt (Tulane)?

No he has fucked it up since the RB pick.

He just took a Center who was almost guaranteed to go undrafted

Missed out on Brade, Trey Taylor

Some decent DT and OL players too

UMD Gottlied Ayedze is still on board very experienced versatile OL player
