    Re: Coachwatch 2023

I had heard Reich and the Panthers' brass were at odds quite a bit on the roster construction. He didn't want to trade DJ Moore; he wanted Stroud, not Bryce Young.

It's not surprising at all that they fired him. The Panthers are not a good football team, and the NFC South pretty much sucks. The Panthers could have won the NFC South with 7-8 wins.

They will have difficulty bringing in a new coaching staff with Bryce Young. I don't see it with him. He's small and doesn't have the arm or mobility to help more undersized QBs win in the NFL. Kyler is thicker than Young, has a bigger arm, and is much more mobile. Same with Russ.

As far as the Panthers are concerned it's Tepper's team, he can play with it any way he wants. Let him waste his money. He would be better to just give control of the on-field stuff to a good GM/FO.

As far as Reich. SMH two years in a row and he's been fired before finishing the season. Not bad because he's still making good money. Does he get another NFL HC job or does he move on to college or coordinating?

Who's next? Rivera, Staley, or someone else?

I think Reich said he is done coaching. He can sit back and get $25 M with no stress.

Chargers fire their HC and GM

    https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/15/sport...ntl/index.html

A day after the Los Angeles Chargers were blown out by the Las Vegas Raiders, the team announced that head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco have been fired.

The Chargers lost to the Raiders 63-21 on Thursday night in Las Vegas, a game in which Los Angeles trailed 42-0 at halftime.

Las Vegas Raiders score a franchise-record points haul as they demolish Los Angeles Chargers
It was a franchise record for points scored by the Raiders, and a franchise worst for points allowed by the Chargers, per NFL.com.

well, why wait. The Chargers have underperformed this year, but that loss was too much.

98.5 reported that Belichick isn't interested in going to a team where he needs to rebuild the front office and coaching staff. He's looking for a team that's got everything in place but just needs a head coach.

Chargers seem like that kinda team

    Will Belichik be gone?
will the NFL try Jim Harbaugh again?

    https://www.si.com/nfl/2024/01/05/nf...s-jim-harbaugh

supposedly the NEPs owner might promote LB coach Jerod Mayo

Jim H might end up in San Diego

Raiders might keep interim coach Pierce

Few things would be more shocking than Rivera keeping his job.
