Um, no, that’s not the bias. The bias is that the moderators felt inclined to fact-check Trump, but not Harris. They shouldn’t be doing it to either candidate, but if you’re going to do it to one, then do it to the other. Before you say she didn’t lie, check out the (already debunked) Charlottesville speech as well as associating Trump with project 2025 just to name a few.

The problem isn't fact-checking. The problems is erroneous fact checking.

Reporters, unlike candidates, are perceived by the public as unbiased. No grain of salt accompanies their claims. So, when they make a fact-check claim -- and it turns to be wrong -- the damage is particularly costly. It passes through the membrane and goes straight into the bloodstream.

When fact check is poison, the damage is especially harmful.

So, to avoid that degree of risk, people would prefer no live fact check by moderators. Let the candidates spit and suck out the poison.
