Yeah, but in fairness to him, he started to complain about the open border situation and his city being flooded with illegals quite a while before that. That's when the Democrats started the lawfare against him. If you are a Democrat and step out of line, they will come after you. That being said, I don't think he's reached "conservative" status quite yet.
