Malik Harrison backstory
He's gotten a lot of flak from fans...I've even heard the B-word (bust) associated with him. While he may not be a star, Malik Harrison has slowly carved out a solid situational role.
He is a bit of a forgotten man, so I was happy to see this nice story by Jonas Shaffer in The Banner today, reflecting on his mental health struggles in the aftermath of a shooting incident outside a Cleveland nightclub early in his second NFL season."That's what."

Re: Malik Harrison backstory
Just setting the memory stage
Harrison was a 3rd rd (#98) comp we got in a trade (so call him a high 4th rd), we also took Tyree Philips 8 picks later with our own comp
Baltimore (PD). Atlanta traded New England's second (55 Dobbins)- and fifth-round selections to Baltimore in exchange for tight end Hayden Hurst and a fourth-round selection
New England (D). Baltimore traded second (#60)- and fourth-round selections (60th and 129th) to New England in exchange for two third--round selections (71st (Madubuike) and 98th) We used our 3rd on Duv
Dang it is tough reconstructing Ravens trades to understand where we picked Harrison and how we managed to get that pickat one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old

Re: Malik Harrison backstory
It seems to be really difficult for a lot of fans to process that players are actually human beings and not just avatars from Madden or names on a stat sheet. Not saying people need to care about all the things that happen outside of the 4 hour window on Sunday...but these guys do have lives and deal with a lot of shit(just like the rest of us) that have nothing to do playing a football game.

Re: Malik Harrison backstory
They deal with more shit than we can comprehend because they have to deal with how us fans feel about their job performance. In our employment lives we only have to contend with how the Boss feels about us - we don't have to think or hear about how millions of fans perceive our job performance.
