Too soon for a Madden movie; his legacy hasn't even fermented five years.

John Candy should've played John Madden.

Wonder if the Tinactin ads are in the flick (?)

Maybe, but today's youth and society move so fast that if it isn't done soon, he will be lost to time.

just read the review, not sure when this will come out. Didn't Madden do his own movie called ride the bus?

He was a great one, both on the field and in the booth. I'd watch it, if it's done well. Never found Will Ferrell even the slightest bit funny, but would give it a go, since I'd guess that it won't be a comedy, per se (?).

He retired from coaching in 1979, and retired from the broadcast booth in 2009. Plenty of time has passed. A person doesn't have to be dead to make a movie about them.

    Re: OT: John Madden movie

I'm assuming if Will Ferrell is in it that it will be a comedy and "loosely" based on his life vs a straight retelling of his life's story in which case it will probably be pretty good, since I still find Ferrell funny.
