Re: Tim Scott enters the GOP presidential race
You beat me to it.......pure conjecture and opinion. The economy was steaming hot. There was little indication that things were cooling down. it took the entire worlds economy to be shut completely down to cool it off. Trump would have rolled in to re-election. Not even close. It took a pandemic of historical proportions and some shenanigans being played with the election process to knock Trump out. Look I am not the worlds biggest Trump guy......most of his supporters are not all in on Trump, but facts are facts. The guy was great for the country.
The establishment on both sides of the isle couldn't stand trump, it was only when Trump clearly had a loyal base did other republicans join in support......even then it was merely a facade. If as a Republican you were not on the Trump train your job was in jeopardy. I contend that there was never in the history of the United States a Republican ever enjoy a more loyal base then Trump. He was the anti-establishment guy. He gave the politicians the middle finger. Plenty of people around the WORLD disliked him for it. His base loved him for it. He gave the establishment the middle finger for the little guy. He practically shut down illegal immigration, made other countries pay their fair share in helping to protect their country. The guy did a ton of things that were Pro-American and the left hated him for it. Even Democrats that were patriotic hailed him for these policies.
Trump was never given a fair shake......no matter if you liked him or hated him you can not deny that the left screwed him. TWICE they tried to remove him for bullshit charges. Still trying to charge him for bullshit even after he's gone.

Economy was not steaming hot but overheated pre-covid. Would we have gone into recession? Who knows, but it was at best going to be a big bump in the road. Then the loosest monetary policy of all time pumped things up. And now things are reverting back on the path we were headed for after 2019.

Re: Tim Scott enters the GOP presidential race
Nobody cared about the tea party when they were the ones holding Obama back from turning America into the next France? Say what you want, but the Tea party were absolutely instrumental to saving America from economic collapse during Obama's ridiculous ideas coming to fruition. While Trump used some of their ideas when it came to tax and regulation, he completely failed to drain the swamp as he promised. That's the main reason why, if I was American, I couldn't vote for him in the primaries. Of course I'd vote for him if he was the nomination v Biden.

Re: Tim Scott enters the GOP presidential race
Is this a post from 2016?
Despite the incredible negative press Trump received (worst in history for over 4 years), a phony impeachment over a phone call, a huge lie regarding Russia, and so much more, HE GOT MORE VOTES THAN ANY INCUMBENT EVER!
And please don't tell me Biden got more. Biden lost in a landslide and save stopping the counts in six swing states with Trump ahead and jamming tens of millions of "votes" into the system for Biden, Trump would have enjoyed one of the biggest re-election victories in history.
