Re: What to do with Patrick Ricard?

I know, we can make this board pumped if we trade him for AT Perry.

If every player on the ravens outperformed his contract like Ricard has done, we would never lose a game.

The UDFA TE from Nebraska, Vokolek, is huge and excelled as a blocker.

True but he might be a worse receiver than Ricard. He had some brutal drops in college. Even if he doesn't have to catch much he still has to be at the tackle eligible level.

Yeah, less Ricard is a good thing.

A pet peeve with Roman was the screen/flat pass to Ricard or Andrews on 3rd and long.

Andrews is the one guy in the pass game that the defense has to prepare for all week and Roman is going to outsmart them on 3rd and long and throw a short pass to him. As a playcaller the guy was just terrible, the guy at the end of the bar has a better feel for down and distance.

Short yardage FB in jumbo packages. That’s about it. Anything more Todd needs to be fired immediately.

Wait you want a UDFA to take the place of an AllPro?

Is also very useful in the sniffer role on short yardage plays or first down.

Keep him. He’s worth the $ if used intelligently. I can’t help thinking back to another TE we let go, “Juice” (I’m part Polish and I wouldn’t even attempt to spell his name). We let him go because of $ and he went on to achieve some greatness elsewhere (SF?)

Kyle Juszczyk. 6 straight pro bowls for the 49ers and all deserved. He's a FB though and not a TE

When, not IF, but when we have a huge lead late in the game and just want to run the clock…. We have to run the ball against 8/9 man boxes. No point going 3WRs, we need a FB then.

Keep Ricard and know he will have a role to play closing the game.

He’s really an H-back and honestly more of a second running back. He can’t block his way out of a wet paper bag.

He can catch and run routes though.
