It actually means everything. Lamar’s contract is over. If he wants his 32M tag money, he needs to sign a contract or he gets nothing.

He isn't playing under the tag people need to understand that it won't happen. Signing the tag is just a procedural thing meaning afterwards he either signs an extension or offer sheet.

In otherwords it doesn't matter all that much if it were a situation where he may play under the tag yeah it means he'll likely show to OTA's etc but anyone who thinks this will drag into the start of next year Lamar is going to sign his tag and play for us week 1 is living in la la land.

Signing the tag precludes a holdout, as it means he IS under contract and thus subject to fines, in addition to not receiving game checks, and the fines start before the games do.

You seem to indicate that sitting out the year is a possibility, it’s not.
