    Anyone shoot bows?

    Hi

I want to start shooting a bow. I want my kids to learn too. Any suggestions?

I want to shoot like a Comanche. I want my boys to learn like that too.

    I'm looking at a simsekbow.com right now.

    Any suggestions for youth bows?

Find a local shooting club. You can do a search for local bow clubs.

They can give you good advice.

Edit: I see you are in Westminster. There is a good shop up toward Gettysburg, or there used to be. There also is a club out on Mayberry Rd (Mayberry Archers). My son used to shoot but it's been quite a while a few years before Covid.

I believe this is the shop we used a few times. Good people.

PSE are good, especially for the young ones.

100%. I still shoot a PSE or aHoyt. Both are like 15 yrs old. Reliable and easy to use.

Man if you want a real recurve bow( American Indian style) might wanna check out the Cherokee Nation or Iroquois. They make some fine ass recurves. Cherokee nation is down near where Blue lives.

Shot a 15 pound reflex bow for about a half hour to 45min today Ottoman style thumb release. I really wish I had a thumb Ring because my thumb hurts now. It was really fun! I had great groupings shooting off my knuckle for the first time ever.

I totally know why they say start with a really light bow at first when you do thumb release, all that pressure on one digit is really tough.

    Re: Anyone shoot bows?

Does anyone know (like actually know what to buy) about Archery cloth/netting/curtains?

I can't tell based on reviews and there are BIG differences in prices, but all seem to have people saying that they shoot right through the netting.

I see reviews of the same exact netting products that one says
It stops arrows from my 40 pound bow at 10 yards and I tried to shoot through it with my 60 pound bow at 10 yards and it stopped 9/10 arrows and the 10th just stuck in it at the fletching.
    Another says (same product)
I shoot right through it with my 30 pound bow at 20 yards, it was like it wasn't even there and the arrows flew another 20 feet and stuck in a fence post and broke. The product is awful and doesn't work.

Like for every product I look at, every site, except for a European netting company

I see a lot of ranges from YT reviewers that are good all have the green Archery netting, but no one talks about it.

Mrs Jacks is demanding overly safe shooting for the back yard so I will need a net and set up for it. I don't really need one, I'll be shooting at targets in front of a steep hill and no one lives on the target side for a mile or more. There is literally nothing that could be hit by misses except for trees, dirt and rocks all misses will go into a hill. However my wife will demand it

First off, learn to handle your woman.

Seriously, it is likely the person shooting right through the net installed it improperly. My guess is they are supposed to be installed loosely so they snag the arrows and if taut the arrow could go through.

I would try bow forums for advice and call the company and ask about the complaints to see what they say.

    Good idea.

Though everyone always says they installed it properly. I've yet to see any videos of someone shooting right through one though
